MY REVIEW

What a truly unique book! I read hundred(s) of books a year but Sacred Serenity was like no other book. So many romance books are about the Alpha male these days but I just adored their partnership. One of the biggest things I love about reading is learning new things. Everything about Sacred Serenity was new to me.

Really? A bastards because Trent and Genevieve aren't married? Maybe I don't have enough experience with religion but in the day in age it's rare to BE married before having kids IF you even get married! Out of 6 siblings I am the only one to be married before I had a child. I think that is only because of fertility problems. I like to say that we did it the old fashioned way! Lol

Dash is a true gentleman and treats Amber and even her friends like gold….of course, he makes mistakes but no one is perfect. Now this book is seriously the BIGGEST installing book I have read. But there were other things going on in their lives so it wasn't a suffocatingly, annoying love story. There was just so much goodness in this book. I kinda want to look into yoga now. It's a must read! I do feel like the schooling was pushed to the side and it couldn't have been for her continue the program.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

EXCERPT

Prologue

Kenzi one day old

Toren fifteen years old

“We want you to be her Godfather,” Asher says as he gently lays his newborn baby into my arms. I have to tear my gaze away from her spellbinding eyes to look up at him from the chair I’m cradling the baby in.

“Me?” I repeat, glancing over at Ember in the hospital bed, who beams back at me with a tired, yet genuine smile.

“Yes, you,” they both say at the same time. “If it wasn’t for you, we probably never would have met,” Ember adds, grabbing Asher’s hand. “And we wouldn’t have this beautiful little baby. We know you’ll always protect her.”

“That’s right, man. You’re Uncle Tor now.”

I’m an uncle. And my two best friends are parents. And we’re all fuckin’ under sixteen.

But Kenzi Allyster Valentine would change us all forever. She needed us.

“Wow. I’m honored, guys. No doubt, I’ll always be here for her.”

I kick back the pang that hits my stomach. I didn’t get the girl…but I got something better that I never expected. A gift in the form of a little tiny hand wrapped tightly around my finger, huge eyes like gems staring up into mine like I was the most amazing person in the friggen’ world, and the first glimpse of what I could already tell was going to be a heart-stopping smile.

At that moment, a connection was born.

That was it.

She owned me.

My niece.

My god-daughter.

The love of my life.

Blurb:

Vivienne Guilt...
Like a cancer, it festers, slowly stealing your life bit by painful bit.
What do you do when you have betrayed the love of your life but he is no longer there to grant you forgiveness? How do you carry the weight of your gravest mistake knowing there is no way to atone for it?
I've made a terrible choice–one that can't be undone.
Hiding this secret is eating me alive.
But if it ever came out?
If it were ever discovered?
It would destroy everything.

Reid
They say you always want what you can't have.
From the moment I laid eyes on Vivienne Parker, I knew I was fighting a losing battle. I want to believe that I'm better than this–that I wouldn't cross that line–but deep down, I know if I were ever given a chance, there's no way in hell I'd refuse.
She's my uncle's wife, so why does it feel as if she is mine?

My Review:

Wow...you need a helmet for this book!!! I was so surprised through most of it that I thought I was going to get whiplash! As a young mom married to a man that is ill...I worry about this type of thing...my husband dying. Me having to live without him. Ugh...so I could totally relate to Vivienne, I mean, how does one live and survive without their other half?

What I like about this book is you see a very (mostly) real struggle. There are some things that I just can’t see happening but COULD happen. What I took out of this book was a love for family and that they all come in different shapes and forms.

This book is not easy and the author took a hard way. But I think it might be a real way for a lot of people. Orgeron touched on some pretty serious topics like addiction and depression. This is a deep read and so completely different...it isn’t what you think it will be. So for me, I was left satisfied and a little shell-shocked!!
