Well, hot dog this book was HAWT! I love me a good sexy cowboy and this series has been nothing if not good and hawt! Pam Godwin has created a series that is compulsive and the best book of the series! Lorne has had a hard time of it… as has Raina. I love the way they work together to get through all the hard stuff. Lorne was so angry and… gruff. I loved it! It reminded me of my husband. I really love the rough exterior to a softie inside. It makes my heart dip! I was sooo happy to really get to know Raina. She reminded me of a dog who was kicked and beaten all the time but never lost his/her fire. She was resilient and strong!

Pam Godwin has found her true calling as a cowboy sexy man romance writer with a bit of suspense and a strong sense of family. The family relationships really pulled at me. This story seemed a bit deeper and sadder than the previous two but it touched me and was my favorite of the entire series! I’m so happy and content with this ending. That prologue made my heart sing and sign, again in total happiness. Ms. Godwin writes like a dream with so much description and heart. I cannot wait to see what we get next! I’m hoping for more romance, suspense, some angst… and so much heat that you need a fan!

My Review:

 

Louise Bay was a great find for me! I was pulled into this book by the gorgeous cover. Seriously, how pretty is that?! So inside the book… I was pleasantly surprised by Love Rehab! This was so much more heartfelt and emotional than I had expected with a very realistic edge to the book. The book takes on the theme of Mackenzie trying to find a fix as to why she keeps failing in making it to the altar with a guy. With her latest failure fresh on her heels, she signs up for a rehab retreat with her friends. However, instead of cleansing herself to find a fix, she gets caught up in a temporary fling with the host’s brother Blake. 

Mackenzie and Blake have an instant attraction that heats up very quickly. Their relationship develops into more than they expected over the few days they have together. They are both at a crossroads and are unsure about their futures, let alone a new, surprising relationship in the making. 

Love Rehab is an exquisitely, well-written sexy contemporary romance with such a refreshingly unique plot. We also get a dual POV. You can’t help but fall for the quirky characters. The book is full of twists and surprises as these characters go on their own journeys to find happiness and love. This is the perfect light-hearted read with humor. It is definitely a must read!

My Review

I so wanted to like this book but it fell short for me. I feel like it had so much promise!! I loved the main character, Polly Doyle. I guess there was just too much thrown in this story for me... it would have been perfect if we picked a main plot and stuck with it. I just felt so scattered with the Bake Off, that was almost a background thought, the cheating ex slimball, the friendship group, all the crazy awesome characters, and the phone sex operator, plus the fake fiance stuff. I'm not saying this book is bad, not at all... don't think that! I think it has great potential!!

I read an advanced copy but I am hoping that they grammar mistakes are fixed... there were a TON! I'm used to some, as I mostly read ARCs, heck... I make some! But there was a ton in this book. I didn't remove any stars for this though, since like I said, it is an ARC and is to be expected in my opinion. 

So, if Michelle is reading this... I LOVED your book, I laughed through it and really wanted to give it 4 star. I don't feel like I can though. I think if you had omitted either the fake fiance stuff and/or the sex operator scandal... it might have made it. I think you could have written two books off everything you had going on in this one and I don't feel you gave the Bake Off the due it deserved.
