RELEASE DAY: Medicine Man by Saffron A. Kent

Medicine Man by Saffron A. Kent
Release Date: September 27th
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Add To Goodreads:

NOW AVAILABLE!
Amazon Universal: https://amzn.to/2I6Ax3A

Saffron A. Kent writes so effortlessly. She tells a complex story that was a really great story. I loved Willow. She was such a strong and complex character. I didn’t know whether to be impressed with her or shocked half the time. Either way, she really fascinated me. She kept me coming back to this story again and again. I had a bit of an issue with Simon. It isn’t that I didn’t like him but, he was hard to get to really like or to bond with. I questioned some of his decisions when he’s a very intelligent man, a psychiatrist for goodness sake.

The story really had the possibilities of being an amazingly fantastic story. However, it was a bit slow… ok, it was really slow for me. It was so odd… the situations in this story could have made it so fast-paced and so intense but it wasn’t and that bummed me out. The story itself was also something I’ve never read before and I was really pulled in by that uniqueness. The last quarter of this book is where I really loved this story. Simon redeemed himself a bit toward the end. The ending was also the coup de grace for me.

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

BLURB

Willow Taylor lives in a castle with large walls and iron fences. But this is no ordinary castle. It’s called Heartstone Psychiatric hospital and it houses forty other patients. It has nurses with mean faces and techs with permanent frowns.
It has a man, as well. A man who is cold and distant. Whose voice drips with authority. And whose piercing gray eyes hide secrets, and maybe linger on her face a second too long.
Willow isn’t supposed to look deep into those eyes. She isn’t supposed to try to read his tightly leashed emotions. And neither is she supposed to touch herself at night, imagining his powerful voice and that cold but beautiful face.
No, Willow Taylor shouldn’t be attracted to Simon Blackwood, at all.
Because she’s a patient and he’s her doctor. Her psychiatrist.
The medicine man.
WARNING: This book discusses sensitive issues including but not limited to, depression and suicide.

EXCERPT

“Do you have someone special, Dr. Blackwood?”
Someone you kiss? Someone you grab and pull into a dark alley and press against
walls?
I don’t say that but I’m definitely asking that.
It’s like he hears the unspoken questions because the heat of his body seems to have
doubled. Like his blood is rushing in his veins with an uncanny speed.
With flaring nostrils and a hard jaw, he answers, “No.”
“Why not?”
“Because I’m busy.”
I want to smile. Actually, I’ve never wanted to smile this hard. Ever. His answer calms
me but it also makes me restless to move closer to him. I want to trace my palm over the arch
of his chest and see if I got it right in my dreams.
But I don’t do any of those things. I don’t want him to take away this small concession
he’s given me.
Why is he even giving it to me? I’m not complaining. But still.
“Busy with patients?”
“Busy with my job. Yes,” he says, all professional-like.
That’s what he is. Professional and distant. Dedicated to his job and fixing people. If
Mass General let him go, then they are idiots.
I’m an idiot, too, in this moment.
Instead of backing off, I want to do something. Something that might crack his cool
façade. Maybe reaching up and messing up his no-nonsense hair.
What would he do? If I did that? If I grabbed his collar and pushed him against the wall?
And kissed him?
My eyes drop to his lips, his soft, soft lips. There’s a cleft in the middle of his lower lip. I
want to taste that cleft, dig my tongue in it, wet it, suck on it, bite it.
“So you don’t have fun at all?”
“No. I’m not a fun guy.”
I watch his lips form the words, and every syllable that comes out of his mouth makes
my need to shake him, kiss him, mess him up, stronger. Stronger and stronger.
The need is so consuming that I hardly notice when he puts his hand on my palm and
takes it off his body. It’s final and smooth, his action. Effortless. As though my touch barely
registered to him.
“But I think you have a point. It’s after hours and I should go… have fun rather than
spending my time with a patient.” He steps back then. “I’ll see you next week. Same time.”

RELEASE DAY: Guilty As Sin by Meghan March

Guilty As Sin by Meghan March

Guilty until proven innocent.

That’s the way the world works, right?

I’m tired of being convicted without evidence, all because my last name is Gable.

The Riscoffs might own this town, but I’m done following their rules.

If only I could forget just how easily Lincoln Riscoff can drag me under his spell.

Squeeeee…. I feel a bit giddy with this book. I really feel like I got so much more information. I understood a lot more. Meghan March really developed the situation between Whitney and Lincoln and why everything is like it is. Why all the drama between the families. Ms. March takes us into the nitty gritty story. I really feel like everything started to form into something and then… the net came down and Ms. March clobbered me! I’m not even kiddin’… this woman, she just hit me square in the head with the mother of all endings and I don’t even know what do anymore.

I seriously felt like twirling and singing… I was so happy with how it was all going down. I loved the way Whitney and Lincoln seemed so together. We continued to go back and forth between their past and the present. The passion and angst with the added drama we all know and love with this author stayed packed into these pages. Guilty as Sin felt a bit more suspenseful and I loved that aspect. I’m really impatiently awaiting this final book! I just can’t wait to see how it all plays out.

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

From New York Times bestselling author Meghan March comes a brand new saga of forbidden love and second chances.

A Riscoff and a Gable can never live happily ever after. Our family feud is the stuff of legends.

Ten years ago, Whitney Gable caught me off guard with her long legs and grab-you-by-the-balls blue eyes.

I didn’t know or care what her name was.

Like any Riscoff worth the family name, I went after what I wanted. We burned like a flash fire until she married another man.

She hates me, and she should.

I objected on her wedding day.

Now she’s home, with those same long legs and man-eater stare, but there’s no ring on her finger.

They say a Riscoff and a Gable can never live happily ever after . . . but I’m not done with Whitney Gable.

I’ll never be done with her.

Whitney Gable is the kind of woman you fight to the death to protect.

To keep.

To cherish.

I’ve finally learned my lesson, and it’s time to prove I’m the man who’s worthy of her.

I don’t care what it takes, because failure is not an option.

No matter who or what stands in our way—this time, she’ll be mine forever

Some books, or authors... make that condom talk so darn uncomfortable... even for me, the voyeur. But not Ms. Meghan March, oh no, she walks in whistlin’ like take notes ladies... and gents. She makes her condom scene all sexy with teeth ripping and rushed movements... shivers up my spine... perfect! Don’t be thinking I’m odd... this is one of those scenes that soooo many books do and do horribly! I’m left cringing and looking uncomfortably around while wondering if the chick in the story is as dry as the desert. Yup, welcome to my mind! This was a hot scene and an incredibly sexy way to start the book... I wanted to bear my teeth and bite.

So what I’m meaning by the rant above is that Ms. March is so descriptive in anything she writes about. Her readers will feel like they’re living this life she’s building or at least sitting in a 5-Star theater watching it unfold. March’s words are alive with feelings and emotions. Hers stories pulse and I can’t ever stop once I start reading. I loved feeling the disdain, or forced disdain, Whitney felt for Lincoln. Lincoln was nearly obsessed with Whitney as I was with their story. He just wouldn’t give up and I admire his determination. His complete disregard for a family feud dating back.

All the secrets and lies, the family rivalry and betrayals, the power and money, the lust and sex... it all added up to this combustible ending that I plowed through. I’ve enjoyed the other books by Ms. March but Richer Than Sin has set a new benchmark for her stories. These are now completely captivating and compulsive reads that I couldn’t put down! Do not miss this book! I’m hoping it’s the start of an explosive trilogy.

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
