I shouldn’t have remembered him.
He was just a guy who walked through a restaurant. I didn't know his name. We never made eye contact. There was no connection between us at all.
But I could feel him.
The tingle down my spine. The command in his presence. The snap of tension in the air around him. That was the first time I saw him, and I was captivated.
The second time was different.
He was in the mysterious back elevator of my apartment building. Our eyes met for a fleeting second before the doors closed, and I was staggered. My breath was robbed. My senses on high alert. My body hummed.
That was just the beginning.
He was the leader of the mafia. I was about to fall in love with him, and his name…

Author Information
I didn't begin writing until after undergraduate college. There'd been storylines and characters in my head all my life, but it came to a boiling point one day and I HAD to get them out of me. So the computer was booted up and I FINALLY felt it click. Writing is what I needed to do. After that, I had to teach myself how to write. I can't blame my teachers for not teaching me all those years in school. It was my fault. I was one of the students that was wishing I was anywhere but at school! So after that day, it took me lots of work until I was able to put together something that resembled a novel. I'm hoping I got it right since someone must be reading this profile! And I hope you keep enjoying my future stories.

THANK YOU!
What a whirlwind! This book had so much going on and there were so many
surprises!! I also haven’t read the Carter Reed books and, while I felt like I
missed some extra info, I think I was able to understand the storyline just
fine. So yes, this is considered a standalone… but… I think it might work
better if you read Carter first. I like having that “relationship” with my
books… maybe I’m odd like that?
I’ve heard people talk about Tijan’s writing before but I keep meaning
to read her books and I even have a few but it always gets pushed aside in an
effort to keep up with my sign ups… so it’s my fault. So to make it easier for
me… I signed up for Cole. Holly hell… I will NOT let another book get by me. This
woman is a mean writing machine! Not only was there not one single thing
missing from this book but it was so good I was finished in hours… HOURS!! I
work and have a family. It’s hard for me to finish a book like that but there
wasn’t another option with this book. It f@cking ROCKED!!! I’ve really gotten
into mafia books so maybe that helped it but damn, this was a good one!!
This book was able to captivate me from the very first page. A woman
grieving, a woman barely hanging on. You might think… oh I’ve got it, hahahaha,
but you don’t! You will be kept on the edge of your seat wondering how… who?! I
am a huge fan of dual POV and that’s the only thing I wish this book had! I
would have loved a few more chapters with his thoughts but maybe that’s what
kept me so captivated.
I received an ARC
of this book with the hope that I will leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not
required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just
that... my opinions.
