At not-quite forty, with his son a high school senior, Bert's going to be dining alone.
His restaurant's wine rep has a few ideas on how he might sate all of his appetites.
He hasn't been buying what she's been selling, but she’s only in Memphis for a few months before moving back home to California…and he is only mortal.
Besides, it's not like he's going to fall in love for the first time in his life or anything crazy like that, right?

A while ago Mae decided that she needed to give up the fear that she couldn't write "great literature" and write what she wants to read.
And she wants romance. And laughter.
She wants heroines who are brave. Brave enough to be themselves and brave enough to fall in love.
She wants men who are strong and kind.
Mae lives in the Southeastern United States and sets her books in hot and steamy Memphis, Tennessee.

Mae Wood is a new-to-me author. I just
LOVE finding new authors that tell a great story like Wood did. Her writing is
just so very detailed and engaging that I was totally into this story. Like I’m
sure others have said, this is a standalone but there are two other books that
you could read to enjoy the authors thoughtful writing skills or to just get a
few of the secondary characters story. I wasn’t lost or didn’t feel like I was
missing out by skipping over two books. It isn’t needed but I think I’ll go
back and read them. I’m also someone who must (most of the time) read in order.
So, if you are like me, that did bug me a bit because I felt like I should know more.
I just love Drennan and Bert!! The
banter between the two of them was just so funny! They brought out such fun in
each other but they were totally combustible together!! The “lickable man”
title seriously made me laugh out loud!! They are just so playful and sexy
together. I really liked Drennan, she was such a stron and independent heroine.
You can’t help but route for her and how she focuses right in on Bret. Now
Bret, holly swoonable daddy!! It was so great to see him so focused on his kid.
So… I loved this book… you should
totally read this book!! I gave it a 4 star rating only because I was missing a
few things. There were a few things that were mention but were never really
closed satisfactory for me. This isn’t enough for me to even look away from her
other books. I just like everything neat and tidy in its box. This was just
missing a few peanuts in the packing for me.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I will leave an
Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise,
and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
