Ahhhh… there’s nothing quite like an organized crime novel written by Bethany-Kris. I tell ya, no one quite writes these stories of dangerous men and the women that captures their hearts like Ms. Kris does! Ms. Kris has this way about creating dark and, well, captivating men (and women really). I don’t know how she can explore this same genre time and time again… and yet she still gives her readers so many different stories, characters, and plot. I loved Joe and Liliana! Joe was completely fascinating to me! 

I loved how they both knew from the minute their eyes hit each other’s that it was it… they were what they had been waiting for. Liliana isn’t just a mafia princess. She dares to have her own dreams and thoughts besides the family. She has dreams to dance. It’s so funny to see how sheltered she was for being the daughter of Lucian. She’s so sheltered and in this sweet little bubble. Joe is an enforcer. He surrounds himself by shadows and the dark. I loved Joe… like he was wonderful and Ms. Kris has made him playful and sexy and so in love with Liliana.

Ms. Kris seriously captivates me… there’s no other way to say it. The way she creates her characters and tells her stories pulls me in every time. She’s a master word-weaver. This isn’t just any mafia story… Ms. Kris pulls the rug out from under your feet a few times. I love that no matter how many times I read her novels she can still shock me. 

The narrator Daniel James Lewis did a great job. I do wish this was narrated by both a male and a female narrator but Mr. Lewis did a decent job. I really enjoyed his accent.

Yes, whatever you are questioning when it comes to Kaznachei’s Pain by VF Mason… the answer is yes. This might just be my favorite of the entire series, which is hard to do because I’ve loved this group of Bratva and Cosa Nostra men and women. Now, I hope you pay attention to the #5 off to the right in the parentheses, so there are four other books that come before this one. I’d recommend reading every single one, in order. You might be able to just jump in, feet first here, but you will get so much more from this series and this book if you know the entire crew from the other books.

VF Mason seriously owned this story! It was more than I’ve come to expect from her books. I know the writing will be fantastic, creative and descriptive. The plot and storyline is always, always, so unique and entrancing. I love being transported to the mafia world. There are no people more loyal or selfless than these people… yet, there’s no people as dark and sinister as them either. It’s a fantastic mix that I get pulled into each and every time! Mason threw the mother of all twists into Kaznachei’s Pain and I was left seriously flabbergasted. This is definitely one fast-paced ride that has so many twists and turns I was left dizzy!

Dishonored is a book that you’ll need to take a breath every once and a while. It’s a brutal story. Now, if you’re a Bethany-Kris fan, and you should be, than you’ll know she often creates brutally, harsh stories. She breaks it down and gives you a real story with all kinds of feelings and heat. What I love the most about Ms. Kris’s stories... the brutality of the men and the women who love them... heck, they’re often just as brutal as the men!! 

Now Caesar is hard and crass, aloft and mean, but Aria challenges him and they dance to their own tune, albeit a bit of a dark one! The twist or backstory in this was... gah... I still can’t even handle it! I kind of understand Caesar’s attitude. I was so pulled into Dishonored. It’s a bit darker than I’m used to from Ms. Kris... I’m definitely not complaining! I loved the blood, the anger, the darker side she gave us of the world they live in. It was also so full of heat and promise between two unlikely characters. 

Ms. Kris continues to give her readers shockingly perfect stories. She’s thoroughly entertaining. Her heat packs a punch and is insanely hot!

SYNOPSIS

Sex is his weapon.

Caesar Accardo is gasoline. Mostly harmless while stable, but Aria holds the match to set the dishonored Cosa Nostra prince on fire in more ways than one. And if he burns down everything in his path because of it—so be it.

The problem is … she just wasn’t prepared for all of him.

Aria De Rose is a hurricane. Amazing from afar, but destructive up close. Caesar keeps getting pulled into the Camorra queen’s plans in her effort to gain power, but he’s a better player than she knows.

The thing is … women like her are the reason why rules are meant to be broken.

Philadelphia isn’t ready for game these two are playing—the sacrifices they make might not be worth it in the end, and someone will always lose in a war.

They’re broken, so very vicious, and they are not the good guys. But for every villain in the world, there’s a monster at his back who made him that way.

Caesar had just come down the escalator at arrivals when the sight of someone waiting for him down below had his rage simmering damn near instantly. Of fucking course his father wouldn’t let Caesar come home to no one waiting for him.

He should have known better.

But shit, he was surprised to see the man who his father did send to wait for him. His half-brother—Daniele.

Woah man! Michelle Brown was amazing! This was an ending of all endings! It was bloody and nasty… there was one scene that I just sat all slack-jawed for a few minutes. Brown is gritty and dark and if she keeps this up, she’s going to find herself in my group of favorite dark authors! I just can’t get over the darkness, the sinisterness of this book! I’m not going into it… The Reaper is a serious treat for dark romance lovers, for mafia loves.
