I wish I had more words to tell you all how much I love the worlds that Bethany-Kris creates. Her characters come alive before your eyes. You will call in love with them and desperately want more of them! Cross and Catherine is a couple that is going to stay with me. They have a love that started upon first site. Every book that Kris has written about them since Always has strengthened that love.

This book was really fun for me. I felt like I got an up-close and personal look at the bosses (Cross) and his high profile drug dealing queen (Catherine) life. You know, how do you juggle like and marriage with a life that can be quite deadly? How do you manage children with this life? Oh man, and seeing them have a child… gah… be still my heart!

I Loved This Series! Every book was better and better! I’d rate this entire series a 10 if I could! If you enjoy mafia books mixed with family and romance, I can NOT recommend this series more than I have already! READ IT, DEVOUR IT, LOVE EVERY FLIPPIN’ WORD!!

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I will leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

Sometimes I just want to write a review pledging my undying love for an author... this is one of those times! I’ve recently said that Bethany-Kris is the Queen of romances for the mafia and cartel. This is so amazingly true... when asked for a reference in this genre, it is Bethany-Kris’s name I give. Not even a book title, just her name because you can not go wrong with her name on the front!

At the end of Always, I was seriously a sobbing mess. I can’t recall the last time a book has touched me so deeply that I cried, like my cat died. Seriously sobbing, snot running into my mouth and tears streaming down my face. I was emotional. I wanted nothing more for this wild boy and sly girl to fix it and live happily ever after. It didn’t happen but in Revere, Kris patched my broken heart back up. It took a bit and was not an easy road. Seeing Catherine find herself and her strength in Revere made my sobbing earlier worth it.

Cross was even more perfect... if that was possible. He was always so patient for Catty and loved her enough to know she had to go. He had to let go of her so she could better herself. It’s hard to work on you when you’re part of a couple. Catty had some problems she needed to focus on, Cross made her. I loved him more for this. The strength he had to have was though the rough and he may have just topped my top spot for male characters. He was that amazing!!

Revere is packed with action and love. Once I started, I was unable to put this down. Kris’s words flowed so effortlessly, it was poetic. I loved every person in this book. Reading about the family... the live and devotion and even the pain and hurt. You feel close to each of the families. Nothing in the trilogy is easy (well so far there’s 2 books but there will be another). This is a labor of love... it’s obvious with the heart Kris put into Cross and Catty.

I received an ARC of this book. I was not required to leave a positive review. Any thoughts or tears in this review are my opinions, my honest feelings.

EXCERPT

ALWAYS, A Legacy Novel (Cross + Catherine, #1) by Bethany-Kris

Catherine giggled. Her amusement faded fast. Like the second Hugh grabbed her arm in a tight grip, and stopped her from walking further.
“Last name?” he asked again.
She tugged her arm to free it from his grasp, but he didn’t let go. She looked down at his hand pointedly. “That’s a no.”
“Shit, what’s your problem? I’m just asking who the hell—”
“Let me go,” Catherine said.
She was polite.
It was the only warning he was going to get.
“Tell me your name, then.”
“This isn’t a tit for tat,” Catherine replied. “I said no, and that means—”
Catherine didn’t even see the fist coming before it smashed into Hugh’s face. Hugh let go of Catherine’s arm with a holler, and she almost tripped over her gladiator-style sandals in an effort to jump back.
“Means fucking no,” the guy Catherine had been admiring earlier said, as he stood over a now bleeding Hugh. “Coach said to move your ass, so move, Hugh. Stop bothering girls—didn’t you get enough of that shit last year?”
“Donati!” someone yelled from the field.
“Jesus Christ, Cross,” Liliana muttered.
“Prick!”
That was all Hugh got out before he kicked out a leg and dropped Cross to the ground. In full football gear, but for the helmets, the two boys started laying into one another. Each fist smacking into a body or gear made Catherine cringe. She was pretty sure someone was bleeding, too, in between cursing and name calling. The players and coaches on the field started heading their way fast.
“Okay, time to go,” Liliana said, making sure to tug Catherine along.
She kept up with her cousin easily enough.
First day, and already starting fights.
Yeah, she really missed her old school.
“Donati did you a favor there,” Liliana said as they came closer to the school.
“Who?” Catherine asked, peering back over her shoulder.
“Donati. Cross Donati.”
That surname seemed familiar to Catherine, but she couldn’t quite pull out why.
“Hugh is a creep,” Liliana said, oblivious to Catherine’s confusion. “He doesn’t understand the word no, and if you ask the right girls, they’ll all tell you not to leave a drink unattended when he’s around. Seriously, Cross did you a favor.”
She couldn’t help but look back over her shoulder.
Catherine found a pair of dark eyes looking in her direction before they locked onto hers.
Cross.
Cross Donati.
His fist crashed down into Hugh’s bloody face one more time before the coach reached the fighting boys, and pulled them apart. He was still staring after Catherine, though.
Cross smiled at her, then, showing off white teeth stained red by his bloody mouth. He didn’t seem a bit bothered by it, really. She smiled back.
Catherine thought, years from then, when people asked …
She would say that was when she fell in love with Cross.
Black hair.
Dark eyes.
Bruised knuckles.
Bloody mouth.
All the while, he smiled at her.
And she smiled back.
That was when she fell in love with Cross Donati.
Even if she hadn’t known it then.

Worth more than 5 Stars!!! So GOOD!!!
Seriously ended this book a sobbing mess!

Bethany-Kris is my go-to author for anything mafia or cartel related. She writes so beautifully and everything feels so original and authentic that I totally fall into this forbidden world. Dante Marcello made me laugh out loud so many times as the real daddy issues pop up! I can only imagine his treatment of Cross is exactly how every single daddy out there wants it to go.

Cross is head over for Catherine and has been since his first sight and no Don of the Marcello Cosa Nostra or Cat, the former Queen Pin will stop his love. I loved everything about this first love, coming of age book. I adored Cross's near disdain for authority and anyone who tried to control him. He always, ALWAYS, told it how it was, not matter how hurtful or brutal, it was. He was honest to a fault.

Catherine, however, she was good at hiding and keeping secrets. I could relate to Catherine more than I wanted to. This book deals with some heavy stuff. Hover, Bethany-Kris tackles it as perfectly as it can be. I love getting snippets from other people I've read about. They ending of this book... well, keep tissues handy! It's heartbreaking and so relatable! I didn't think it could be possible for me to love Bethany-Kris's stories and words more than I did but with every book she puts out, they just get better and better.

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
