BLOG TOUR: Loyalty by Bethany-Kris

LOYALTY

John + Siena, #1 by Bethany-Kris Publication Date: March 5, 2018 Genres: Adult, Romantic Suspense, Organized Crime. Erotic Romance

AVAILABLE NOW!

SYNOPSIS:

Fresh out of prison after serving a three-year sentence, Johnathan Marcello wants to get back to normal business as a mafia capo. The rules set out for him are clear—keep out of trouble, maintain a low profile, and stay stable. But stability is a delicate balance for a man like John, and shaky ground is only a single step away.
A chance encounter with a blue-eyed woman might just change his whole world.
Siena Calabrese’s life revolves around cooking numbers, and scrubbing books clean. After all, a girl is only useful to men in the mafia, if she isn’t totally useless. As long as she does what they want, then she can maintain the illusion of freedom. But illusions are only delusions in the grand scheme of her life, and reality is far more dangerous.
A man with secrets might just be the one thing she didn’t know she needed.
In this life, family is everything. Or, that’s how it should be.
Distrust. Love. Betrayal. Loyalty.
Mix it all together, and it makes for a volatile city.
A war is coming.

Bethany-Kris’s books have the most beautiful covers. They always seem so deep and elegant. I would love to have every single one of her paperbacks on my bookshelves… one day maybe! Loyalty is no different with its gorgeous back floating woman and that flowy font if just plain gorgeous!

I didn’t think any other book could top the Cross + Catherine series but John and Siena might have just at least reached their level. I just can’t hand their ranking over just like that. John and Siena are going to have to work for that spot but man, they came out with a huge bang! Kris took on the mental disorder bipolar. I am in complete aw of her tact and descriptions on the situations John put himself in… the slingshot of emotions that he went through, that he felt. It was incredibly emotion and it’s such a realistic portrayal of what it’s like. She also showed what it’s like to love a person with bipolar. This was just nothing short of amazing and shows the highs and lows of this disorder perfectly! For that alone, this book needs to be recognized.

Loyalty is fast-paced but yet, I didn’t feel rushed through the book. I felt like I was able to get to know both John and Siena before they became a couple. I’m so thankful that Bethany-Kris constructs her books in dual POV. I love being in both main character’s minds. It’s the best way to really feel connected. And connected is exactly how I felt. It’s so raw and real feeling. I totally fell for Siena. She was completely perfect for John. She loved him for him. Their chemistry and heat was off the charts. I’m a fiend for Disgrace already. This couple already has a piece of my heart… perhaps it’s the Romeo/Juliet type feel of the book. The opposing characters from each competitive family falling for each other. I just consumed this book as quick as I could while savoring every written word!

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

EXCERPT

A louder clang echoed from downstairs, and was followed by a loud cuss. John decided it was time to get up before Siena fucking hurt herself, or something. He pulled on a pair of sleep pants to cover his lower half, but nothing was hiding the half-mast of his dick pushing against the cotton.
Fuck it.
Soon enough, John was leaning in the entryway of the kitchen, and he watched as Siena balanced on a chair while she tried to pull a mixing bowl off the highest shelf in the pantry cupboard. Her wet hair hung in rivulets down her back, and he could see just a peek of her bare ass beneath the dress shirt she had thrown on.
His shirt.
It looked far better on her.
He didn’t even mind.
Those bare legs of hers—all soft lines, and sweet curves—looked damn good as she tried to balance on one foot and stretch to reach the bowl high above her head. He was so caught up in staring at her that he didn’t even mind she had seemed to tear his cupboards apart.
Anyone else, and John’s odd tendencies about his place and things being just how he wanted them might have come out to play in a not so nice way.
But this was her.
And he didn’t mind so much with her.
“Need some help?” he asked.
She must not have heard him coming downstairs because the shriek she let out damn near burst his eardrums. Not to mention, her body swayed on the chair, and she missed her step when she set her foot back down.
John bolted forward, and barely managed to catch Siena before she hit either the chair, the floor, or fucking both. Her brown hair created a curtain over her face, and she blew out a hard breath. A couple of strands puffed forward before Siena used a hand to push the hair back.
He’d caught her just a few inches from the floor. Lucky, really.
“Make some noise,” she told him, glowering. “I almost killed myself.”
“Thank you, John,” he mocked, “for not letting that happen.”
Siena pursed her lips. “And that, too!”
“Mmhmm.”
She grabbed his jaw with one hand, pulled him in close, and gave him a kiss that made his dick go from half-mast to all the way hard. Damn. All it took was her teasing little tongue flicking against his lips, and then the promise of a taste of her, and there he was … ready to go again.

Sometimes I just want to write a review pledging my undying love for an author... this is one of those times! I’ve recently said that Bethany-Kris is the Queen of romances for the mafia and cartel. This is so amazingly true... when asked for a reference in this genre, it is Bethany-Kris’s name I give. Not even a book title, just her name because you can not go wrong with her name on the front!

At the end of Always, I was seriously a sobbing mess. I can’t recall the last time a book has touched me so deeply that I cried, like my cat died. Seriously sobbing, snot running into my mouth and tears streaming down my face. I was emotional. I wanted nothing more for this wild boy and sly girl to fix it and live happily ever after. It didn’t happen but in Revere, Kris patched my broken heart back up. It took a bit and was not an easy road. Seeing Catherine find herself and her strength in Revere made my sobbing earlier worth it.

Cross was even more perfect... if that was possible. He was always so patient for Catty and loved her enough to know she had to go. He had to let go of her so she could better herself. It’s hard to work on you when you’re part of a couple. Catty had some problems she needed to focus on, Cross made her. I loved him more for this. The strength he had to have was though the rough and he may have just topped my top spot for male characters. He was that amazing!!

Revere is packed with action and love. Once I started, I was unable to put this down. Kris’s words flowed so effortlessly, it was poetic. I loved every person in this book. Reading about the family... the live and devotion and even the pain and hurt. You feel close to each of the families. Nothing in the trilogy is easy (well so far there’s 2 books but there will be another). This is a labor of love... it’s obvious with the heart Kris put into Cross and Catty.

I received an ARC of this book. I was not required to leave a positive review. Any thoughts or tears in this review are my opinions, my honest feelings.
