Recklessly Forbidden
by Emily Bowie is now LIVE!
Growing up in the shadows of an all-star football player in a small town isn't easy. It's even harder when that legend is your older brother. Jewels Rogers always plays safe, preferring the shadows that allow her to go unnoticed. When scandal breaks and rumors spread, she leaves Three Rivers, planning to never return.
Sinfully sexy, Tyson Bennett gets through life easy. He's stellar at his job, loves playing on the dark side, and girls drop their panties when he looks their way. Except for the one girl he can’t stop thinking about. His natural charisma seems to disappear around the mysterious beauty who caught his eye.
When one of his infamous blackmail deals goes awry, Tyson realizes that maybe it isn't just the deal that is spiraling out of control but his life, too.
Will Tyson be able to win Jewels over and keep her safe before it's too late?
Will Jewels finally step out of the shadows and play the leading lady in her own life?
This is book two in the Bennett Brothers Series, it is told in dual POV, and has a HEA. Since characters do play recurring roles, reading book one in the series, Recklessly Mine, is recommended; however, it can be read as a standalone.
Emily Bowie is from a small town in Western Canada. She has been making characters come to life through her writing since she was old enough to put her thoughts on paper. She loves her white wine cold, her heels red, and her books spicy.
She married her high school sweetheart and they have two amazing children.
She is the author to the Castle Series: Allure of the O'Neal Sisters (September 2015), Behind the Closed Door (February 2016), Allure Behind Rose (October 2016).
Bennett Brothers Series: Recklessly Mine (May 2017), Recklessly Forbidden (November 2017), Recklessly Devoted (2018)
When she is not writing she can be found reading a good book, making digital scrapbooks and being physically active—whether it is at the gym, going for a walk, or playing /keep up with her children.
I
was sooooo excited for Jewel’s story. The taste we got of her at the
end of Recklessly Mine had me itching me it. And I loved Jewels!! She
was fun, she was spunky, loyal, and loved her family. She left, no, she
ran from Three Rivers years ago running from her problems. She returns
when her brother needs her. I think that shows us who she is.
I really enjoyed Tyson. He’s quite a mystery. He tries so hard to come of cocky and full of himself. But Jewels makes his brain freeze. I like it when seeing someone makes you feel stupid. He diffidently didn’t know what to do with it. However, he has a similar personality as Jewels. He’s loyal to a fault and loves his family. That’s what I’ve gotten most from these books, family and friends mean everything!!
I’ve been following Emily Bowie for a while now and I’ve loved seeing her writing flourish. I love a romantic suspense book and she handles it nicely. I never feel like it’s too over the top. I like the secret society and can see groups like that, or similar, still existing. It’s a unique concept. I feel like we got to see another side of Bowie’s writing with Recklessly Forbidden. She unleashed bit more humor and I really enjoyed it. This book was a bit deeper than book 1 so I think the humor offset it perfectly.
I removed half a star because I wanted some more information on Jewels situation with her ex. I just feel like that was huge for her. She ran away from home, from him. He didn’t put up much of a fight. I just wanted more from that area. I’ll also add that I do beta read for Emily and did mention it. I know the ex isn’t where she wanted to take the story. I guess I just wanted closure on it or something.
I’m super excited for the next book, Recklessly Devoted, and I really hope enough years have passed so we can have some marriages and/or babies from the other couples. I love being able to catch up and see where their lives are now. I’m also really excited because I don’t know much about this next brother Brody. I can’t wait to see where else we go in Three Rivers.

I received an
ARC of this book with the hope that I will leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not
required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just
that... my opinions.
