I first found Wendy Smith’s books with
Coming Home. I loved it! So I’ve been watching for her books since then. I was
so excited to see Doctor’s Orders land on my kindle!! Smith writes such real,
relatable characters that I could see liking and see them in real life situations.
We get real people with real storylines and plots but also real and true
emotion. I also love a book that is a standalone but gives us glimpses of
characters from previous books… I just loved catching up with Adam and Lily.
Gah…
Drew is such a gem! He’s completely adorable! I don’t know how a sweet and kind
man like him ended up with his girlfriend and how she treated him? He took the
abuse for way too long! His brother calls to ask him to come home, he jumps at
the chance to go home to Copper Creek. Hayley is Lily's midwife, as well as her
friend. The sexual tension seemed to sizzle between them right away.
I
love the relationships in this book (and in Coming Home). You get the close
knit family feel. I really like how the closeness of the brothers is portrayed.
They seem so close and I just love that camaraderie! Wendy Smith’s story is
written so well. It’s so easy to read with a steady, enjoyable pace. I can’t
wait to get to the other men’s books! This book feels like more of a
cliffhanger than I was expecting. So I’m left panting after the next book(s). I
also liked that this book was a bit more suspenseful… I love suspense and
romance mixed together.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an
Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise,
and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
