Toying with Her, an all-new standalone
from Prescott Lane is coming LIVE!!!
No one said finding love was easy, but when you invented the world’s best selling vibrator, it’s near impossible. Yep, that’s right. That little toy hidden in your bedside table is my brain child. It’s aptly named Woman on Top. And you know what they say . . . it’s lonely at the top.
So I’m headed home to my Southern roots. It’s supposed to be an extended Summer vacation — nothing more. But Rorke Weston has other plans for me. Plans that not only involve me being on top, but also underneath him.
It’s been said you never forget your first. For me, that’s definitely true. No night has ever lived up to the one I spent with Rorke.
He’s turned into quite a man. Tan from the Southern sun, and stubborn as the day is long. And there’s nothing sweeter than the swipe of his tongue.
Rorke wants his chance. The one we never had. But that was a long time ago. When I still believed in Prince Charming and Happily Ever Afters. Even ten years later, I feel a pull. And it’s not simply Rorke yanking down my panties.
Do second chances really happen? Or is my heart simply toying with me?

When I read the blurb of this a while back I thought it was basically going to be a RomCom. I couldn’t wait to read it! I love a good laugh-out-loud book with some sexually awkwardness and I seriously expected that in this book. However, that is not what I got with Toying with Her. Prescott Lane brings some problems that our society faces front and center. Lane gets into the shame and discretion that we place on sex. The secretism that surrounds sex. We go back to a time and place where touching yourself is wrong, where sex is completely taboo.
Now think on all those “issues,” and now imagine our main character, Sterling, as the WOMAN inventor of the best, curl-your-toes orgasm vibrator. Yup, that’s what we got here! She’s rolling in the money after inventing such a wonderfully, needed and over-used tool. Now imagine being single, inventing said toy, and having so much money you could wipe your booty with it! Yup again, poor Sterling just wants a man that can do what her toy can. Now we get into the second chance love story with Rorke.
I like Rorke for the most part. I liked that he wasn’t intimidated by her or her wealth. What bugged me about Rorke was that he couldn’t handle Sterling wanting to be there for him. Sometimes people need monetary help, heck; I could use some monetary help right now. It’s different if you’re begging for money to get your eyebrows threaded or if you actually need something. So Rorke was ok with everything except taking the help himself from Sterling. I know so many men live in the dark ages and want to “be the Man” but the world has changed so much. I think this book takes that into account.
Prescott Lane’s writing is just as smooth and interesting as ever. This was a fun book to read even with the deep pockets inside it. Lane’s stories are always so refreshing to read. I never feel like I’m getting the same book with her. I love the dialogues and quick-witted banter between the lead characters. Lane speckles the pages with some quick little bursts of the past between Rorke and Sterling. I love books like that… I felt like I really got their past and was able to build something strong for the future. Bravo, Prescott Lane, you’ve done it again!
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
