Close your eyes … Just pray you don’t wake up.
A killer stalks the streets of East London. All over the area, murdered young women are discovered, their bodies posed into a sickening recreation of fairytale princesses.

Detective Ruby Preston is determined to hunt down a disturbed individual who is using the women to realize their twisted fantasies. But when body parts are found at the home of her lover, Nathan Crosby, Ruby is torn between her job and her heart.

Convinced that he is being framed, Ruby must catch the killer before Nathan becomes the number one suspect. But as more victims are found, it becomes harder to prove his innocence.

Ruby is in too deep, knowing that the cruel individual is getting ever closer, looking for his next beautiful victim. But can she stop a killer hell-bent on fulfilling their horrific desires – before it’s too late? And how well does she really know the man she loves?

A terrifying, addictive serial killer thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat, for readers of Angela Marsons, Peter James and Rachel Abbott.

Caroline Mitchell
A former police detective, Caroline has worked in CID and specialized in roles dealing with vulnerable victims, high risk victims of domestic abuse, and serious sexual offenses.

Originally from Ireland, Caroline lives with her family in a pretty village on the coast of Essex.  She now writes full time.

Wowzers....this book is fantastic. Caroline Mitchell keeps getting better and better! I’m so happy we are getting more from Ruby! She’s a detective that is just fascinating!

This book centers around Detective Ruby Preston and her team as they race to find the killer that has left a series of bodies cleaned and transformed into traditional fairytale characters. Everyone loves a good story right? Well, this is a KILLER of a story! All your favorite fairytales have come back to haunt you with their very unDisneylike telling. I love this!! It has made me want to go look up all these fairytales and see how they really went down.

To make matters even worse someone is trying to frame Ruby's old-current boyfriend (who knows, right?) for the murders. Ruby knows deep down that Nathan Crosby couldn't and wouldn’t do something like this but with her superiors on the hunt for him she has to work quickly as the bodies pile up. Can she prove his innocence and save him for once?

I love everything about Ruby and Nathan's relationship. It’s such a real relationship with real problems of family tossed in. I loved Ash! The Doctor was amazingly, creepy!!! He was so awesome, his disfigurement was left to my warped imagination to figure out how terrifying he looked. And just when you think it's all fallen into place… Caroline Mitchell hits you over the head with a book… a fairytale book, of course, of a twist. This book consumed me! But then, Mitchell always sucks me in!

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I will leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

MY REVIEW

Kerry Wilkinson has created a creepy but riveting new novel with "The Killer Inside." It's a psychological thriller that keeps readers turning the page wanting more. This story is infused with humor, originality, and mystery. I just can't recommend it enough.

This police procedural starts off very quickly and maintains a fast pace throughout, definitely a fast-paced thriller.  As more murders occur, the newly appointed detective DS Daniel and the journalist, Garry, work together looking for connections, trying to unmask the killer.  Wilkinson writes so the readers can FEEL the building tension that leads naturally to the explosive ending!

This was such a quick read but we do get some background details on DS Daniel to build on her character and help the reader understand who she is as a person and a detective. There are subplots involving her retired ex-partner and her flat mate/best friend, which are important and add to the plot. I’m definitely excited to see that NetGalley has the second novel queued up. I’m hoping this turns into a great series similar to MJ Arlidge’s DI Helen Grace.

Kerry Wilkinson give us an exciting, fast paced, thriller/crime thriller with an engaging new DS to follow.  This is one I would definitely recommend!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thanks NetGalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read this great book!!

The victims are all single men, with very private lives. Why are their pasts shrouded in secrecy? And what links them to the killer?

CLICK HERE TO BUY at this time it's only $3.99!!!

MY REVIEW:
I loved this book! Robert Bryndza has quickly become on of my favorite authors. With this book and The Girl in the Ice, he has quickly shown his thriller talent! I think I actually enjoyed this book more than The Girl in the Ice and that is saying something because I just gobbled up that book!

Erika Foster is a great detective to read about. She’s all instinct and ambition and unfortunately that doesn’t work well for her when she wants to climb the promotion ladder. This book was extremely personal for her. I think that’s what I enjoyed more…there was just so much suspense! I’m hoping these books still continue to come out as this one could really go either way.

I would like to thank Net Galley, Bookouture and Robert Bryndza for gifting me an advanced copy of The Night Stalker in exchange for a honest review.

MY REVIEW:

This is my fourth Mary Burton book and all of them have been consistently good! I love a good suspense with a tiny bit of romance thrown in and that’s exactly what Burton gives you! There were some parts of the book where it was kind of stagnant, and seemed to be moving slow. Personally, I prefer a mystery where we learn bits and pieces over time…a little here a little there but this was like a deluge of information at the end. It was also pretty easy for me to pick the person behind it all.

I really enjoyed the Burton’s Morgan series so I was excited when I saw this was the beginning of another series. I’m not sure there were many characters that I would be interested in learning more about or reading another book on. I’d still probably read it but this wasn’t my favorite Burton book.

I received an ARC of this from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This one was a bit hard to rate, I'm torn between a 3 and a 3.5
