Wow, I don’t know what I don’t read more of HJ Bellus! Every single time I read her books, they blow me away! This is an emotional story about coming home both mentally and figuratively. We have two very broken people here and we learn to trust, to lean on family, to grieve, to let go. It’s an emotional book that I think will resonate with so many people. There’s enough action to pull all types of romance loves in… we have the family crazies, the fighting, again both mentally and physically. Bellus puts us through the wringer here!

This book was as unique as it was fantastic! I loved it! The very first few pages pull you right into its clutches. Carian Cole can tell a magical story about anything and make it the most interesting thing. I read this book in 3 settings, because well… life and kids and all that. 

Holly and Ty are two broken character that you will fall in love with as they learn to love themselves and each other. I adored Holly and her, almost childlike, thinking… I mean what do you think about but a prince coming when that is all you really have to think? And Ty (ha!) he couldn’t be further from a prince but that is just what he turns out to be! Everything about that is just unique and special!

There were a few things that made me want to shake a person. I mean, her parents SUCKED!!! They just sucked! My heart broke hearing her thoughts about her family… her mom was just so darn judgmental that it infuriated me on Holly’s behalf! Holly’s thoughts on her “new room” were totally understandable and justified and darnit, I was so mad at her parents… again!! I loved so many of Holly’s family though… Anna and Zac are just perfect, Holly’s grandmother made my heart so happy, Lizzie was just a little girl… an innocent in all of this.

This just broke me and was my absolute favorite quote from the book:

"I have no idea what love is supposed to be like, but I can't imagine it can be any better than what we have right here."

If you’re on the fence about this book because it’s the second book in Devil’s Wolves series… don’t be. This is a standalone. You are good! While there are connections, you will NOT feel lost. However, I’d totally recommend Torn first… I mean Carian Cole is a beautiful writer that will melt your heart!

MY REVIEW

What a truly unique book! I read hundred(s) of books a year but Sacred Serenity was like no other book. So many romance books are about the Alpha male these days but I just adored their partnership. One of the biggest things I love about reading is learning new things. Everything about Sacred Serenity was new to me.

Really? A bastards because Trent and Genevieve aren't married? Maybe I don't have enough experience with religion but in the day in age it's rare to BE married before having kids IF you even get married! Out of 6 siblings I am the only one to be married before I had a child. I think that is only because of fertility problems. I like to say that we did it the old fashioned way! Lol

Dash is a true gentleman and treats Amber and even her friends like gold…. of course, he makes mistakes but no one is perfect. Now this book is seriously the BIGGEST installing book I have read. But there were other things going on in their lives so it wasn't a suffocatingly, annoying love story. There was just so much goodness in this book. I kinda want to look into yoga now. It's a must read! I do feel like the schooling was pushed to the side and it couldn't have been for her continue the program.
