I really wish I had realized this was a book 2 in the Whiskey series. I’ve read Whiskey & You but it’s been a while and I would have liked to refresh my mind a bit. However, that is all on my lap and has nothing to do with the author or even my rating because, again, my fault. So anyway, it took me a bit to get in the mindset of this story and refresh Kemp in my head. He’s a lot more lethal than I recall him being. I might have struggled a bit liking him. I understood his reasoning but, I don’t know, he was dark and hard… like really hard. I do like my alphas with a bit more of a softer side to them, but again, that’s my preference.

However, let me tell you, HJ Bellus pulls out all the emotional stops and likes to play with your heart. I was a bit surprised with how dark Bellus went. This might just be her darkest story. She did take a real-world problem and bring it into fiction with fantasies we’d all like to have really happen. You know, the stories where the good guys always win and the bad guy always rot in hell. Even with all the dark, all the deep; Bellus was able to make this a well-rounded storyline. It was an emotional story.

And just like that I have a new author to add to my stalker list! HJ Bellus is a subperb writer! She pulls the emotion out of the words and right into my heart. The way Bellus tells a story is complete perfection! It’s beautiful. The characters are beyond fantastic! Ugh… I want to go into this story and chat sooo badly! But, that’s totally unfair, so I’m going to be super duper short and sweet because I’m scared I’m going to slip. You are going to inhale this story and want to know every single story about the other characters. There’s a rawness in this book that will leave you feeling vulnerable! It’s awesome!

Wow, I don’t know what I don’t read more of HJ Bellus! Every single time I read her books, they blow me away! This is an emotional story about coming home both mentally and figuratively. We have two very broken people here and we learn to trust, to lean on family, to grieve, to let go. It’s an emotional book that I think will resonate with so many people. There’s enough action to pull all types of romance loves in… we have the family crazies, the fighting, again both mentally and physically. Bellus puts us through the wringer here!

I had no idea when I went into Full Contact that it was a cross over between Pinky Promise (HJ Bellus) and The Wrath of Cain (Kathy Coopmans). It was incredibly fun to see Cain, Calla, Baylor and State in this book! I was just tickled pink! To see them all grown up and watching their children, well, it was completely magical for me a mega-time book connoisseur! I’ve immensely enjoyed both these authors separately but together, they are a completely magical! I have no idea who wrote what and I thought I would be able to but they were good, they were flawless.

Justice and Liam struggle along with sexual tension and anger. They are so desperate for eacho other, near desperation. Justice is a mafia princess… I love mafia books! I mean, LOVE, I’m like obsessed with them! This one was so good! The melding of the princess with the football player headed for the NFL was fascinating. I mean what a different type of story that is breathtaking in its feelings. Sigh… read it and fall for them both!

Now, the only question I’m left with is who wrote what??
