MY REVIEW

This book was seriously deadly! It is not a book that will give you the warm fuzzies, or at least intentionally. You can’t help but feel for Una. She’s had a tough life and really hasn’t had many people there for her or no one she can truly trust.

This book is intense, and hard, and bloody, and aggressive, and violent but you’ll start to see things shift but not too much since years of conditioning is hard to break. Una is just a total badass and I can’t help but love her. I’m totally rooting for the “kiss of death.” I’m hoping that her father figure gets what he deserves since I have a feeling he is to blame for so many things.

One of my favorite quotes from the book: 

“I don’t know how he can make me want to fuck him and slit his throat all in the same breath.”  

I mean, haven't we all kind of felt like that? While that may sound horrible, I know there’s been some times I’ve wanted to beat my husband senseless! LOL

Since this was my inaugural read for LP Lovell, I gotta say, I’m totally in the middle of a love/hate relationship with her. Obviously, this book was just kick ASS and her writing keeps you on the edge of your seat and you can’t help but feel the tension and the adrenaline that this book causes but...I totally hate her for leaving me hanging on one of the biggest CLIFFYS I have ever read. She just dropped it and walked away whistling leaving me in turmoil for the next few months….the next few months...Lovell, you’re cruel, and you know it!!

My Review:

I’m not quite sure how I feel about Sawyer Bennett right now…this has been a pulse pounding series thus far but Oh Mannnn this cliffy’s are KILLING ME!!! I didn’t think it could end in a worse possible way after Sugar Daddy…silly me! Bennett totally shocked me! She pulled out all the stops in this book and left you with your mouth gaping wide open in awe of her brilliance!  Beck, I just adore Beck! He’s just the sweetest guy ever! He’s so caring and thoughtful! Sela is just an amazing woman too. I can’t wait for the conclusion of this series but its bitter sweet, I don’t think I’ll want it to end but if it doesn’t I might go crazy!! I can’t say anymore without getting into spoilers but prepare yourself for the unexpected! Bennett did an extraordinary job!

MY REVIEW:

This was my first Sawyer Bennett book and I have to ask, where has she been all my life? This book was complete perfection….well minus the cliffhanger, unless I had book 2 in my possession. I hate cliffys but I love that I’m going to get 2 more books out of these characters.

Even though Sela’s motives are exactly pure, you can’t help but route for her. She’s had a crappy beginning into her womanhood, so to speak. I live for thrillers, so I am totally interested in all the details of what happened to set her on this path. I’m probably the minority as it isn’t going to be an easy thing to digest. Beck, you just can’t help but adore him. He seems to give his women such attention.  He’s such a sweet guy that you can’t help but feel bad for what’s happening. And JT, well JT, I think we all want to hurt him. I can’t wait for him to get what he deserves!

If I could, I’d give this book a 6. If you follow my reviews or blog, you’ll know I rarely give 5’s but this book was so great. It really had everything for me. The only thing that could have made it better was if I had book 2 and 3 in my Kindle waiting for me start.
