Title: Game Changer
Series: Change of Hearts Series Book One
Author: Sierra Hill
Genre: Single Daddy/Nanny Sports Romance
Up until two years ago, I was living large and my life’s priorities were anchored to three things – my NBA stardom, money and celebrity.
I was also a dick.
I was also a dick.
Until one night turned my world upside down and I suffered unspeakable loss. That event changed the man I was and made me a widowed-single father.
Now I’m a desperate parent trying to raise my special needs son and find him a trustworthy live-in nanny.
Grad student Brooklyn Hayes may be the one, with her single-minded focus on caring for my son and finishing her Master’s degree. She’s the perfect fit for our needs.
Maybe too perfect…with her bright smile, nurturing kindness and gentle touch. Caleb isn’t the only one who’s fallen for her.
I don’t know when or how it happened, but she changed the game for me. Turning my losing streak into a winning second-half.
I really loved this side of
Sierra Hill's writing. I feel like Game Changer is softer, it's a bit more real
feeling. This opening... I mean, Miss Hill captured crazy parenting perfectly.
What it feels like inside. Lord, the guilt parents have and the struggle we
take on to try and be everything and do everything. It kind of knocked me back
for a minute and reminded me how hard it all can really be. I know, I'm kind of
rambling here but Sierra Hill really hit parenting and the struggles we face
from within on the head. I'm just awestruck with the feelings she put in my
mind nearly immediately. I was thoroughly impressed!
Anywho...Garrett and Caleb are struggling through life. Dad and son just seem to make it through the days... barely unscathed; losing Caleb's nanny makes life come crashing down. Now Garrett is an amazing man and father. He wasn't always, so that makes him even more swoonable. But little Caleb. Caleb stole the show. I couldn't help but just adore that boy. I feel like Brooklyn should have cam swooping in with a cape on! This girl was built for those boys.
Sierra Hill pulled out some real shockers here. I didn't realize she could create such words that would make my head spin and my heart ache. Not only was this one full of emotion, it was also this lovely slow burn. It felt like there was a lovely build up. I'm not even sure Brooklyn and Garrett knew what happened until they were neck deep. Really great writing... loved the characters. Just an all-round well-rounded story.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
