Blurb
𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫 (𝐍𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐫):
Ryan
Shea has sworn off men.
After
her last relationship imploded in front of her eyes, she decides to take a
break from swimming in the dating pool … possibly forever. The brilliant
computer whiz loses her brain when it comes to love, and jumping feet first
burns her every time.
Without
a home, or much of a clue where life is headed, taking a trip back to the small
town of Fawn Hill to stay with her best friend seems like the only option.
Except
it puts Ryan directly in the path of the one man she can’t fall for. Fletcher
Nash reminds her too much of the dark past she’s always run from; his demons
are the things of her nightmares. And it’s no help that, when he looks at her,
she feels as if Fletcher is the one person who truly understands.
Fletcher
Nash vowed not to fall in lust.
Five
years of sobriety, and he hasn’t broken the chastity promise yet. Not that it
had to keep for this long … he’s well over the normal year addicts are told not
to get involved.
But,
aside from a busy schedule and trying to chase his dream of becoming a
full-time artist, he has no intentions of committing to a woman until she is
the one.
Why
is it, then, that sassy, city girl Ryan Shea comes dangerously close to
resembling the exact woman he could break that promise for? Like sand through
his fingers, there is no way she’ll stay put … but his heart just won’t listen.
They
pledged not to love anyone until it was the real thing.
So what happens when two people terrified of falling head-over-heels, actually do?

I just knew my heart was not ready for Fletcher. I feel like
the entire series has been leading up to Falter. I knew as a recovering addict
myself that it was going to be difficult. Fletcher was going to open up wounds
that had closed up a long time ago. But, if anyone could do this situation justice,
it would be Carrie Aarons. Carrie writes some of the mist expressive and honest
book I have ever read. This is one of those books where you wonder if she based
the book on someone else's life instead of her imagination... it's that vivid!!
I just adored Ryan. I love how she seems to keep making the same bad choices when it comes to me. Finally, she just swears off man all together. Wouldn't you know that this is when she meets Fletcher? Fletcher is impossible to not love. He's working so hard to stay sober. He's also sworn off dating until he feels his sobriety is under control. Really, he's scared to change his up his lifestyle. He's content and really doesn't want to change things. It's funny... this is always how life works!
Carrie Aarons really gets into the mind of Fletcher. Then there's the dilemma Ryan faces. Does she really want to willingly place herself back into an addict's life, recovered or not. I loved checking in with the previous characters as we go through Fletcher's story. Carrie Aarons words and flow are fantastic. I feel like she pulled out all the stops and just gave us all the feels in this book.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Author of romance
novels such as The Tenth Girl and Privileged, Carrie Aarons writes books that
are just as swoon-worthy as they are sarcastic. A former journalist, she
prefers the love stories of her imagination, and the athleisure dress code,
much better.
When she isn't
writing, Carrie is busy binging reality TV, having a love/hate relationship
with cardio, and trying not to burn dinner. She lives in the suburbs of New
Jersey with her husband, daughter and Lab/Great Dane rescue.
