Disgrace, an all-new romantic and emotional standalone from Brittainy C. Cherry is LIVE!
Synopsis:
Each day I prayed for my husband to love me again.
After fifteen years together, he walked away from me, and into the arms of another.
I didn’t know how to cope. I didn’t know my worth. I didn’t know how to exist without him by my side.
All I wanted was for him to come back to me.
Then, Jackson Emery appeared.
He was supposed to be a distraction for my mind. A summer fling. A confidence boost to my bruised heart.
We were perfect for one another, because we both knew we wouldn’t last. Jackson didn’t believe in commitment, and I no longer believed in love. He was too closed-off for me, and I was too damaged for him.
Everything was fine, until one night my heart skipped a beat.
I didn’t expect him to make me laugh. To make me think. To make my sadness somewhat disappear.
When our time was up, my heart didn’t know how to walk away.
Each day I prayed for my husband to love me again, yet slowly my prayers began to shift toward the man who wasn’t right for me.
I prayed for one more smile, one more kiss, one more laugh, one more touch…
I prayed for him to be mine.
Even though I knew his heart wasn’t destined to love.

Brittainy C. Cherry has done it again! Disgrace is a
complete hit. I wish everyone would take note that it’s not the quantity of
books that authors produce that matter but the quality of said books. This
author puts out one, maybe two, books a year and every time she floors me with
her intense stories and incredibly relatable characters.
Disgrace is going to strike a cord with every person who has struggled in life, struggled in finding their place, struggled in finding out who they are meant to be. What sets Ms. Cherry’s books apart from most other books is her ability to create a story that readers, young and old, will feel deep inside their hearts, a book that will resonate. At one point in their lives they to would have struggled within themselves and somehow this book will touch on that time in your life and make you reflective.
So apart from having some uncanny ability to create stories that make her readers reflective on their lives; she creates a wonderfully poignant story. Grace and Finn have a marriage that is crumbling, this in itself makes Disgrace so relatable. How many marriages crumble these days instead of flourishing? How many spouses turn to others instead of their spouse? Too many to count! Jackson comes along at a time in Grace’s life when everything feels it’s in utter chaos. Most can tell from the synopsis that there is cheating in this book. Not generally a read for me. I tend to stay away from those with straying spouses just because of my personal moral beliefs. Plus the complete lack of disregard and disrespect for someone they had said to love and honor... well, it ticks me off, and really I feel you should always care enough about them or even yourself to be honest and treat others how you’d like to be treated. Sorry... total tangent! This is why I don’t do cheating books!
So even with all that said and the moral conflict, I felt like this book was still an entrancing story. Disgrace was heartbreaking and emotional. The characters were so dimensional and just captivating. This just proves to me that Ms. Cherry can write any storyline and it will be fantastic!!! I hope she continues to write stories that make me look inside for insight, and stories that make me question. I will say that Disgrace is a bit different from Ms. Cherry’s other books. So I can see that some people may struggle with the storyline while others will fall deeply into the pages written by Ms. Brittainy C. Cherry.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
