"This story was brutal truth wrapped in hope, courage and unflinching love. It's a must read. It's a STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND READ THIS NOW kind of book. Don't hold your breath, this story will steal it from you." - J. Sterling, NYT Bestselling Author

A FORBIDDEN LOVE SET IN THE EXPLOSIVE WORLD OF THE NBA...

Think you know what it's like being a baller's girl?
You don't.
My fairy tale is upside down.
A happily never after.
I kissed the prince and he turned into a fraud.
I was a fool, and his love - fool's gold.
Now there's a new player in the game, August West.
One of the NBA's brightest stars.
Fine. Forbidden.
He wants me. I want him.
But my past, my fraudulent prince, just won't let me go.

*Author's Note: There are aspects of this story that may be sensitive for some readers.

Sometimes I just want to write a review and leave it with one single word… WOW! Kennedy Ryan has knocked my sox off. When you sit down with a Ryan book you know that you are getting more than just a story, just a book… you are experiencing her words… you are living in that world that Ryan created. So based on that, all I want to tell you is that Kennedy Ryan has completely outdone herself in Long Shot. I’m not a huge fan of sport romances but this is soooo much more than that.

I love how when Kennedy Ryan tells a story, she goes completely raw and doesn’t mess around. Long Shot feels incredibly true and incredibly relatable. I see so many women when I read this story. Like I said, this is more than a sports romance. This is a story about one woman, Iris, finding her strength and determination to not only survive, but to flourish.

I can’t recommend this book enough! Ryan’s writing in so fluid and hits you strait in the heart. Ryan opens up your mind and makes you think by expanding your mind. August and Iris share a sizzling hot attraction. But they share more than an attraction, there’s something deeper and meaningful there. I loved the… mystical powers interwoven into this story. It was different and just fascinating. The secondary characters were just unbelievable. I adored them! They were a fantastic support system. In that matter, all Ryan’s characters are so compelling, so deep.

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

“Iris?” August’s frown, the concern on his face, in his voice, remind me where I am. “Baby, you okay?”
I blink down at him dumbly, swallowing my tears, eating my memories whole and digesting a nightmare from long ago. I nod, my lips a cold, wobbly curve.
“Kiss me,” he whispers, his eyes so tender, so intent.
I remember a magical night under the stars, under a streetlight on the eve of greatness. A night filled with laughter and confidences, pregnant with promise. And I see him so clearly, my prince, asking for a kiss.
And I do.
I kiss him like the world might end tonight because I’ll never take this for granted. Not his kindness, when I’ve known cruelty all too well. Not his tenderness, when I’ve been handled roughly in the past. Not his love, when I’ve been possessed and owned and mistreated.
He thaws me with his kiss, my prince, and I melt into him. We’re chest to chest, with August’s number crushed between us. I take his cock in my hand, aligning our bodies, and two become one in a carnal slide of flesh. I anchor myself by my elbows hooked around his neck, and we kiss until I’m dizzy and our breaths tangle in a cloud of bliss. Under the jersey, his palm spans my back, digging into the naked flesh as our hips lock and roll and grind. My body clenches around him, and we pray, we curse, we moan, we mate like our bodies were made for this moment.
Ours is a love that reimagines—that peels back the sky at high noon searching for the stars, collecting them like shells in a bucket. We bathe in stardust, drink from the Milky Way, and dance on the moon. We pierce the firmament, peer into infinity, and tread on time and space. There is no before. There is no after. Now gives birth to forever. This moment may die, but this love never will. Time is not a line. It’s a circle, and we, August and Iris, we stand at the center.

When her nose isn't buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she's in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It's a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn't listen to her...

I have just adored Natasha Madison’s books since the very first one. I get super excited every time I see a new one is releasing. I’ve been itching for Noah’s story every since Tempt the Boss (which is a definite) MUST read for everyone. Tempt the Boss and Tempt the Playboy overlap a bit in the time frame but I loved having that overlapping story and seeing some of my favorite characters again. Madison doesn’t write anything but wonderful romance with a bit of humor and a TON of heat! Prepare yourself to fall in love with Noah!

Tempt the Playboy is the story for Noah and Kaleigh… I think Kaleigh might have confused the poor player when she played her hand a little better and didn’t want him (you go girl!!). Noah is totally fool-loose and fancy-free, he feels every woman is a notch that must be on his bed, tsk tsk Noah. Kaliegh is just what Noah needed. She is the perfect match for him. I love their banter and playfulness… seriously that made the book for me! It was light and fun.

I would seriously recommend everything Natasha Madison writes! I love her stories. Noah grows on you. You’ll read Tempt the Boss and really wonder if you can even like Noah but he grows on you in Tempt the Playboy. He won me over when it was so clear that he loved Kaleigh so much that she’s all he could see… it’s beautiful. Be still my heart and brace yourself! Keep ‘em coming Natasha!

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

Then one day a phone rings in her bedroom—but it’s not her phone. Solomon has been in her home, and has a very simple message for her: for each of the ten years he has spent in jail, Rebecca must witness a crime. And, to make matters worse, she has to choose the victims.

Fail to respond and you get hurt. Talk to police and you die. Ready to play? You have sixty seconds to decide…

As the crimes grow more severe, the victims closer to home, Rebecca is forced to confront a past she had hoped was gone forever.

 MY REVIEW

I have read every single Mitchell book and I swear, she just gets better with each book! Most of her books are told from the detective viewpoint so it was great to read a different try of storyline for Mitchell. She had no problem getting out of her ex-cop mind and into the head of a wife and mother desperate to keep her family safe from her deadly past.

I completely loved the dual views and loved getting inside Solomon's head. I always enjoy seeing what the bad guy is thinking. This books is suspenseful and will make everyone wonder what you would do to protect those you love. Hold on as Mitchell takes you for a fast-paced ride of fear, suspense, and what it's like to constantly feel like someone's watching you.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
