It was super fun to get this whole box set and be able to read the book back-to-back like I did. I remember watching these books come out one at a time and dying to read them but I wasn’t into cliff hangers (at the time, now it seems most books end that way) so I waited to get these. If you’ve read each book previously, go reread them now that they are all out… it just feels like it’s a different experience! Gemma James is an amazing writer! She just sucks you into her books with so much emotion and tension in her books!

So right out of the gate we have The Devil’s Kiss… who wouldn’t want to read that book with that for the title?! This goes to show you how as parents we will do anything for our children. But what happens when what you do can have dire consequences? Poor Kayla finds out when her boss Gabe catches her… now she has two choices. This is such a naughty read! You can’t help but feverishly turn the pages because James’ words are addictive!

The Devil’s Claim comes up next… I liked this book but not as much as the first one. This one had me wishing Kayla had a bit more of a backbone. I know I’m reading dominate/submissive book but… I can’t place it and can’t really say everything or I might as well ruin the whole darn book for you! I think I wanted a bit more tenderness from Gage especially since he has a bit of competition.

The Devil's Wife, I again struggled with my love for Kayla. I wanted her to get a backbone. She wanted more from Gabe but didn’t seem to know how! Sometimes fantastic sex just isn’t enough for matters of the heart! However, Gemma James can make you fall in love with the nastiest of men! I mean, she is referring to Gabe as the Devil in her titles… she knows who this man is!

Finally, we have The Devil’s Spawn... its funny… sometimes I just can’t believe I stuck with these books. I’m just not sure about Gage… I don’t like him… but there’s just something there. This is definitely not a typical romance book… or heck there isn’t much romance to this whole series but it is there… somehow. Heck… I didn’t particulary like Kayla in this story either but I loved this whole series! Proof that I’m a little bonkers too!

I do like that we have a different guy in Gage… he isn’t the sweet talking alpha male we are used to. He is pure unadulterated alpha male… no apologies! There’s just no sweetness, no mushy goodness! But that isn’t this series. It’s fabulous though! It’s amazing to see how he interacts with Kayla’s daughter.

Prepare yourself for hundreds of pages full of domination and submission, a definite power struggle, destruction, with a ton of secrets, a bit of revenge with punishment following on its heels. It’s incredibly odd to not particularly like the characters in the book but think the books are just fan-freakin-tastic! Gemma James is pure talent and she created a fabulous world here full of fear, angst and power.
