Holy slow burn! It’s been a while since I’ve read a book that teased me so much! I have a few AM Hargrove stories on my kindle but haven’t cracked them open until this beauty. I was pleasantly surprised with her writing technique and the story itself. She gave us real and likable characters. People I could totally see hanging with! I love stories where people have completely given up and love... it’s even better if they’re bitter! From Ashes to Flames gave us that plus betrayal and learning how to move on and up.

Now, it’s really hard to explain why I removed a star. There weren’t any technical problems that I saw or can recall. The characters were enjoyable... I either liked them or wanted to smack them but a range of emotions is great... heck it makes a story excel!! I thought the story was great and the plot didn’t lag. It was more that I didn’t feel consumed... I don’t mean for that to sound totally hokey. I try really hard to leave those 5 star ratings for OH MY LORD, she/he just blew my mind clear off. I can’t read or get into another book for days. That’s my 5 star. So while this is a great book and I totally recommend it, it just didn’t stop me in my tracks. However, I seriously plan to check out the massive back log of books on her shelf!!

A veil drops over her eyes and the laugh disappears. Whatever happened in therapy opened up too many old wounds she won’t show me. Right now, anyway. Then I think about what just took place between us, and I question my own sanity. What the fuck was I thinking? Sex and business should never mix. I broke one of my cardinal rules. I didn’t just break it, I pulverized the damn thing, and it’s now scattered into dust. Maybe I should pretend it didn’t happen.

But I can’t do that. And why? Because it was the most epic sex of my life. And it was with Midnight, someone I’ve developed feelings for. How the hell did that happen?

Leaning down, I take my tongue and give her pussy one last, long swipe. Then I stand and go into the bathroom to dispose of the condom. When I’m done, I pick up my discarded clothes and get dressed. Her eyes practically burn through the skin on my back, which isn’t exactly the most comfortable feeling.

First… holly hotness of a cover!!  I just LOVE when authors collaborate on books… they just get so elevated. It’s like everyone has to up their game! This book was FULL of some amazing sex scenes and with that cover… it should!! I feel like this could be anyone’s problem and not just Jenna. 

This book really shows you how painful it is to do things to make other people happy… just focus on you!! I had so many emotions through this book… happy and sad, pissed off and laughing! You just go all over the place. Brandon is a totally swoonalble character! These characters were so fascinating and so developed… I found myself having chats with Jenna. She rarely took my advice but it’s always different when you’re on the outside looking in :)
