Title: Too Bad So Sad
Series: The Simple Man
Author: Lani Lynn Vale
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: August 8, 2018
Tyler Cree has never been good at the whole look and don’t touch thing.
From the moment he was old enough to walk on his own two feet, he’s been looking for trouble.
Trouble comes in many forms…quite a few of those forms being the female persuasion.
Tyler knows what girls want—a bad boy. And he has the bad boy image down pat.
Ex-military—check.
Hot cop—double check.
A bike between his legs and a devil may care attitude—oh, yeah.
All the girls want him, yet none of them will have him—at least not all of him, anyway. A certain appendage they can have all they want. His heart, however, is not up for grabs. The useless organ inside his chest was broken and battered, mutilated by the one woman he thought would keep it safe.
Spoiler alert: she ripped it to shreds and set fire to the pieces.
To protect himself, Tyler keeps everyone at arm’s length, and never lets anyone get too close.
Then Reagan Rose Alvarez barrels into his life, and trespasses on not only his property, but straight into his abused heart. One glance is all it takes, and he’s suddenly thinking about things he hasn’t thought for quite some time—thoughts that a man like him should never have about a woman like her.
One moment of weakness is all it takes, and suddenly he has no other choice but to go on the offensive.
Keeping her is the only other option now.
Turns out, his heart isn’t as broken as he thought it was.
The only problem is, now the little she-devil holds it in the palm of her hands, and she has no clue just how much power she holds.
Besides Too Bad So Sad having just the best frigging book
name, I’m totally in love. I have a major crush, yes, with a fictional
character... but it isn’t what you think. I want Reagan!! She’s just the best
female. I just adore her personality. I can so relate to her anti-social
tendencies. She’s just so darn smart, so darn funny... I loved being inside
that cleaver little mind of hers!!I just couldn’t get enough of her. The
characters Ms. Vale crests are some of my favorite! The banter and fun between
Tyler and Reagan was so entertaining... I just couldn’t get enough of them two!
Ms. Vale’s Simple Man series will keep everyone entertained from beginning to end. TBSS left me in a fit of giggles with how very different Tyler is from Reagan. He’s so much more reserved to Reagan’s private, yet fun and upbeat. They might be opposites but they compliment each other. This book is one of my favorites in the series. It had s steady pace and it just reads like real life. I wish the twist wasn’t as similar as the previous book with Cora and Coke in “Ain’t Doin It.” It felt like a bit of a cop-out after such an amazing story. However, I still liked this book a lot! I’ll continue reading Ms. Lani Lynn Vane’s stories! She still creates fantastically-relatable stories that are fun and so creative with great people that I want to be friends with!!
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
