I always enjoy VF Mason’s books. They are always so full of
action and sex appeal. I was a bit surprised that I had a hard time getting
into it. Maybe for the first 25% it seemed slower than I’m used to with Ms.
Mason. Something that doesn’t differ is Ms. Mason’s clear and interesting
writing. I think it might be the sadistic part of me but Lachlan’s Protégé has
a ton of blood and guts! There was blood flying everywhere and it was just
everything… or it was for this dark and twisted lady!
The characters, Valencia and Lachlan were amazing. Just…
sigh… getting the backstory and some history broke me a bit. There are some
areas that are trigger worthy here. Again, nothing overly descriptive or
horribly upsetting (at least to me). I
really enjoy that Ms. Mason focuses on the main characters and doesn’t give us
a ton of distractions. While I’m talking about distractions, I was a bit thrown
off with all the dates and times. I
couldn’t quite keep up there. Overall, another hit outta the park for Ms.
Mason!
I received an ARC of this
book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to
leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my
opinions.
About the Author:
V.F.Mason always loved reading books and had quite a few fights with her momma over the genre she liked (romance, duh!) She studied filmmaking and thought that would feed her desire for stories, but that didn’t happen. Finally, when she was tired of all those voices in her head, she sat down and wrote a book. It was a huge decision to make and she thanks her friends and family for supporting her in it. When she is not writing, she can be found with her friends doing all sorts of crazy things or reading recent romance books that were written by her favorite authors.
