Blurb/Synopsis:
What she saw was enough to make her a liability.
Aubry Clark was thrilled with the direction her life was headed. AC Interiors, her design business, was taking off thanks to high profile clients like Liam Lockwood and Mike Chesterfield, giving her a chance. She could practically taste the success she was about to come into and the steamy cat and mouse games between her and perpetual bachelor, Mike, didn't hurt either.
Until one day, just before sunrise, she went down to the docks to set up a photo shoot she'd dreamed up. She wanted to capture a colorful graffiti wall to use against the minimalist décor she had in mind for an upcoming project. But what she accidentally captured instead, was about to change her life forever.
The click of her camera shutter was the last untroubled sound she heard. When a muffled scream ripped through the air, Aubry turned around.
That was her first mistake.
When men dressed in black, forcefully shoved a scantily-clad girl in a shipping container and set their sights on her, Aubry ran.

I’ve been completely dying for
Aubrey’s story since I met her in The Tutor and The Brother. Aubrey is Nora’s
best friend; Nora is the main character in the other two books. I would totally
read them before reading this. You probably don’t have to read them but I
would. K. Larsen is a word magician! She can pull feelings from me like no
other. I went in knowing The Best Friend was going to be a great book, and I
finished it knowing it was better than I thought! Ms. Larsen always blows me
away with her characters and the way her words just flow and create scenes
before my eyes.
The Best Friend is a fast paced
story that seems to almost read itself! I couldn’t believe how quickly I read
this. It was a perfect romantic suspense. Mike is definitely an acquired taste!
But Aubrey is where it’s at! She has a heart the size of Texas. She forgives
and loves with all her heart… ok, she might be a bit too forgiving but it’s
hard to fault someone for their ability to forgive and love. After all the
knocks she takes, she shows an amazing strength… it’s truly admirable. I do
wish the jumps between time frames were a bit clearer but my love for this
storyline and plot cannot be lessened! I love this cast of characters! Don’t
miss any of these stories!
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an
Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise,
and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
K. Larsen gives good words, born in Maine, she fled the state for a short period to experience, well, anything else, but now resides there again. She writes romantic suspense and psychological romance primarily but has dabbled in most romance sub-genres. She sometimes writes with Mara White, when something viral sparks a fire between them. They've been known to wrench hearts from chests and tears directly from readers’ eyes.
