COVER REVEAL: Bad Reputation by S.L. Scott

Bad Reputation by S.L. Scott

Genre: Standalone Contemporary Romance
Release Date: December 7th
Cover Design: RBA Designs
SYNOPSIS
Being bad never felt so good.
I fell for Ally the moment I saw her. Who doesn’t like a confident, intelligent woman with curves I could spend days exploring?
Who am I kidding?
I have.
Many times.
Our story ended abruptly when she left like we weren’t meant to be. We are. So I’m calling her bluff. That’s how I ended up thousands of miles from home, standing next to a man who claims to be her fiancé.
Being good has never felt so bad.
When it comes to a successful man with an incredible body and biteable jaw aka Hutton . . . let’s just say willpower is not my strong suit.
Need more?
Try bad-boy American.
You’re welcome.
Embracing my newfound good girl status, I do the right thing and start my reign. My desires no longer matter. The monarchy, the people, and my country do. There is no place for love in this new life.
But I never expected to see him again, much less standing next to my royally appointed soon-to-be fiancé.
As if that didn’t complicate things, the man I once told I love you to is wearing a perfectly tailored tuxedo and my favorite smirk. I straighten my crown and adjust my dress, realizing this good girl never stood a chance. I’ll take the bad reputation if I get him.
~Being Bad Never Felt So Good~

Excerpt
The elevator doors slide open and she walks into the hallway ahead of me. We haven’t spoken since we walked into the hotel. This night holds more meaning than our other nights ever did, along with a whole slew of what ifs. Us, coming to an end has added weight where there used to be none.
Just before we reach the door, I stop just shy of it, and stand in her way. “Hey.”
“Hey,” she replies with an easier smile sliding into place.
“No matter what happens in there—”
She arches an eyebrow. “What’s going to happen in there?”
“I’m going to show you how much I care about you. It’s going to be rough emotionally. It’s going to be raw and real, and this time you won’t walk away unscathed. When you walk away, walk down this hall and take that elevator to leave, you’re going to know exactly what you’re leaving inside that room. This time I’m not leaving anything to chance because we may have been fate, but it’s up to us to create our destiny.”
“Hutton,” she says, her chest expanding as tears fill her eyes, “Kiss me.”
I cup her face and run the pads of my thumbs across her cheeks, wiping away her tears. Leaning my head against hers, I look deep into her eyes. “Why are you crying?”
“Because you’re too perfect to be real.”
“I’m real. I’m right here, so real.” When I kiss her, I give her everything I have because this is it. My last shot to make sure she never forgets. Her body hits the wall behind her, mine pressing against hers.
My needs begin to overtake reasoning, her little moans eliciting an intense reaction. Every time we’re together it’s better than the time before. I’m always turned on by her, muscle memory kicking in. I know her likes, her desires, her fetishes and she knows mine. Her hand dips into the top of my jeans, her warmth embracing my hardness.
My tongue finds a home with hers and I can’t stop my middle from pushing against her. “It drives me wild when you wear clothes this tight. It’s as if you’re wearing them for the whole fucking world to see.”
“I love to drive you wild.”
Leaning back, I look into her eyes, the eyes that hold so much more power over me than she’ll ever know. “Why do you torture me?”
“I like to know that I’m not the only one who gets jealous.”
“Jealous? You’re never jealous.”
Her grip tightens around my cock, causing me to suck in a sharp breath. “You think I don’t see how women look at you, how they vie for your attention? My jealousy boils inside every time another woman talks to you or touches you or brushes against you.” My breath is harsh, but begins to regulate with each stroke of her hand around me. “As long as I’m here, this is mine.”
“It’s yours long after. I’m yours long after.”
Her hand stops when she lifts up on her toes to kiss me. And as much as I like her hand wrapped around me, I like her mouth on me more.
A hint of lime still lingers and I stroke her lower lip as I kiss my way to her ear. “I’m going to make you feel so good, baby.”

BLURB:
They always say that two wrongs don’t make a right...

Well, she was wrong for breaking into a house that didn’t belong to her; even if she and her daughter had nowhere else to go.

And, I was wrong for watching her on the surveillance camera as she moved through the house and climbed into bed.

So I offered her a job and a home.

Her smile…

Her curves…

Wrong has never felt so right.

Now, I want to make the biggest impact yet…

I want to make her mine.

Impact is volume 3 in the Iron Orchids Series but may be read and enjoyed as a standalone contemporary romance.

So it’s super weird, I’ve liked this series but nothing has stood out and been amazing, you know to make me shout at the top of my lungs about the books. Damon, I don’t feel like I really got to know him. He was sweet and sexy. I loved how committed to his family he is. I don’t know, I just feel like I was missing more from him. It continued on with Katy. I wasn’t too sure about her. I felt like I totally loved her one minute and the next, I just really disliked her. It wasn’t particularly ansty and this was definitely a slow burn. There was chemistry and Katy and Damon were good together, for each other. I wanted a bit more heat; a bit more I can’t deal without the other person in my life, next to me. I love a good story with the complete desperation for the other person.

I really struggled rating this book. Danielle Norman has a great flow and her writing is great. The pacing was fine even though I wanted more buildups to things.  I guess I just wanted more development with the characters. My favorite part of Norman’s writing is the way she can write funny scenes. I found myself laughing quite a bit. If Norman could have spent a little more time, a few dozen more pages on development; I think this book would have excelled.

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

Oh, my goodness. No. NO!”
I smile to myself as I hear Abby entering the apartment. Yep, that’s about the reaction I was expecting.
“No. No no no. What? No.” I can hear the anger swelling up in her by the tone of her voice. She must not like the changes I made to the apartment. But, seriously, who doesn’t have a television in their living room? And this place was in serious need of some natural light and some fresh air so I opened the windows and tied the heavy curtains back.
“Coyer?”
I ignore her as I continue kneading the pizza dough down.
“COYER!”
Ok, I guess we’re up to shouting now. Best to just let her get it out. I roll out the dough on the counter and wait for her to come find me.
“COYER! I told you not to…” She stops short at the kitchen door and takes it all in. A look of complete horror on her face. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!”
“Oh, my goodness.” She takes two steps inside the kitchen and looks around the room with her mouth gaping open. Her shocked eyes flit from the empty egg shells dripping yolk onto the flour covered counter, to the dirty pans in the sink, to the containers of milk and flour standing haphazardly around the kitchen. OK so the place is a bit of a mess but you can’t make a tasty meal without creating some kind of mess.
“What are y…?” I look up from where I was spreading the pesto onto the rolled out pizza base to find her eyes on my chest. “You’re naked!”
I smirk at her and look down at myself. My sweat pants are hanging low on my hips and my bare chest has a few smears of flour on it. “Hardly naked babe.” I wink at her.

I love a good roommate to lover’s book!! I thought Muse by Nina Auril was great! It’s my first read from this author and I really liked it. Coyer was the typical ladies man… but horrible!! He is kicked out of his current living space because he slept with his roommate’s friend and she wanted more… it’s a pattern that seems to follow Coyer around. It doesn’t stop with Abby. Abby’s in a bind and a total control freak. She’s a girl right after my own heart with her inability to deal with change and likes to control everything. So I could seriously relate to her!

Slowly Coyer won me over, I dislike the player guys, but his wit and humor is just too hard to resist! He’s a riot! He’s so entertaining and he ends up being funny. I enjoyed seeing him trying to resist Abby. I enjoyed watching them both fight what they felt for each other. Coyer’s an artist and is battling his lack of inspiration. Abby is just what he needs… and I’m not just artistically speaking!! Coyer ended up being super sweet under this playboy exterior he always wore. Once he dropped it, I enjoyed seeing the funny banter and the sexual tension fogging my glasses!!

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I will leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
