RELESE DAY: Tinsel by Devney Perry

TINSEL

Lark Cove Book #4
By Devney Perry
Release Day – Feb 19th, 2019

Sofia Kendrick has always cherished her tiara. As the youngest daughter of a wealthy New York family, she’s lived the life of an American princess. But after two scandalous divorces and a breakup smear her name across the society rags, the shine from her crown has dulled. People call her superficial, even gaudy.

She’s nothing more than tinsel.

Desperate for escape and starving for peace, Sofia heads to Montana for a holiday weekend with her brother. But she doesn’t get the relaxing vacation she planned. Instead, she’s put to work in a bar alongside Dakota Magee—a man who does not want her help. A man who is set on teaching her a few lessons about real life and hard work. But Sofia has a couple of life lessons of her own to teach. Like how to fall in love.

Is it weird that I always forget how amazing an author is until I dive back into one of their stories? Tinsel is seriously unputdownable... I read strait through one morning and didn’t even shower until lunch time. Devney Perry’s writing captures me... it holds me prisoner from start to finish. Every time I read a Lark Cove book... I think this is it! This is the BEST one she’s written. I really feel that way about Tinsel. I will mention that I really wanted Audrey’s story but I’m so happy I got a sneak peek into it… if you’re feeling the same way be sure to click that little link and request that extra epilogue.

Dakota is the sweetest and kindest man. The way he quickly cares for Sofia is adorable. You can’t help but be drawn in by this man. And Sofia, sweet and naive Sofia. I’m more inclined to hold her family accountable for the way she is than herself. She’s really lacking that belief in herself. I felt for her… I think we all struggle with some self doubt and we all struggle to find our path. Dakota is very similar, while he is full of confidence. He is lacking in that he should be able to follow his own path.

I really like how Devney Perry gives us some normal every day struggles and adds her own spin to them. There’s always a deeper level in her stories than what meets the eye. Tinsel filled my heart with hope and happiness. Miss Perry’s writing is captivating and her storytelling is completely hypnotic. I’m really sad this series is over.

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

Alone.

So when Piper Campbell knocks on his door, rambling on about being his new neighbor, he slams the door in her face.

But Kaine’s gruff demeanor doesn’t scare her. She’s set on living in Montana and starting over after a terrible divorce. And she wouldn’t mind having a fling to chase away the pain of her husband’s betrayal. Her handsome, albeit rude, neighbor is the perfect candidate.

My, oh my, Devney Perry you have given me a story with the thickest sexual tension I have ever felt. Yes, I could feel it. I seriously FELT like the third wheel in that camper... alive and rich with want and need. It just oozes from these pages. It’s been a long time since I read a story where the characters had such an instant need for each other. It really pulled me in... ok, ok... it made me fidget a bit too with their lust.

I was besotted with this story, with the characters. Piper and Kaine are both so darn likable you can’t help yourself but to want nothing but good things for them. I can’t even tell you how many times I had this sweet little smile on my face from the way these events unfolded. My heart expanded and sighed all on its own which is when I started to recall the title of this book that was completely enchanting my heart... Tragic... and I knew I was counting down the pages until Devney Perry switched it on me and I’d be left sobbing instead of sighing.

So it didn’t take much until my heart was breaking right alongside the characters. Poor Kaine has so much fear... he’s so scared to live life. The fear makes life seem impossible for him and he hides himself away in Lark Cove too scared to live. Piper is so charismatic and I seriously want to be besties with her. She’s one of the most forgiving and loving characters. Her heart is way too large for any of the tragic things that happened through her life. I so related to Piper. I’ve been in her shoes and had her heartbreak.

I really really love the way Devney Perry creates her story. She creates her characters and slowly... ever so slowly her characters develop these stories and back-stories that are so relatable and beautiful. With Tragic, I fell completely, hard, and instantly for the characters just to have my heart broken and fixed, just to have Ms. Perry break it again and heal it again. Go into Tragic with timid (no pun intended there) little steps... it’s a beautiful story but it’ll hurt a bit but it’s so very worth it. Devney Perry reminds me time and time again why I love romance, especially when characters get a second-chance at happiness. Tragic has all the feelings all tied up in one heartwarming story about forgiveness and family.

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

REVIEW TOUR: Timid by Devney Perry

TIMID

Lark Cove Book 2

By Devney Perry

Release Day – SEPT 4

Willa Doon has always been shy. Her quiet demeanor was something she’s always embraced. That is, until Jackson Page moves to town. The one man she desperately wants to take notice struggles to remember her name.

Year after year, Willa stands by, watching as the bartender slash playboy drowns his demons in beer and sex. Then one night, he shows up at her door, suddenly aware that the girl he’s seen around Lark Cove is now a beautiful woman.

Except what he doesn’t remember is that this visit isn’t his first. They spent a night together once before. A night he’s forgotten, thanks to a bottle of tequila.

A night that crushed a timid girl’s heart, and set a broken man on the path to heal them both.

Devney Perry is an amazing author. Her writing is able to take on this life-like feel where I can feel the characters. They end up being my friends or my enemies. Ms. Perry creates the best characters! Willa is by far, one of my favorite people; she’s just so darn sweet and open. It was just adorable how she was smitten with Jackson from the start. All I wanted was good things for her. She deserved them! Jackson was a bit gruff on the outside but on the inside he’s totally a softie. You just have to get him to open up.

Seeing Willa grow to a shy and quite girl to someone who was stronger was an inspiring transformation. It’s an interesting mix… I might have swooned more for Willa than I did Jackson. Jackson made me want to beat my head against the wall a bit! The story though was so beautiful… it pulls out all the stops with the sweetness and all those emotions pumping though. Being able to catch up with the previous characters is a real treat! I love books like this with the interconnected series.

 EXCERPT

I scooched my chair in toward the table, trying to put a little more space between Jackson and me, but he wasn’t having it.

He put both hands on the back of my chair, then leaned in close. “Hi, Willa.”

“Uh . . . hi.” I shivered at the heat from his chest on my bare shoulders.

Why was he standing so close? My parents were right there. Our table was one of four tall, square ones in the center of the room and there was plenty of space between tables.

Plenty. P-L-E-N-T-Y.

But was Jackson using any of that plentiful space?

No sirree. He stayed pressed against the back of my chair, like there were only three inches of usable space behind him, not three feet.

My skin prickled he was so close. I tried to nudge my chair forward again but it barely moved. Sweat beaded on my temples and I pulled in a shaking breath.

Jackson’s woodsy, rich scent was everywhere. It overpowered the stale beer, pizza and peanuts, and I inhaled a deep breath, unable to resist.

Sexy Hot Forest. That’s what they’d call his cologne.
