Since I found out AR Torre was Alessandra Torre, I knew I had to read all her stories. That is just what I’ve done since. Lillian's life is a bit boring. She used to be a high profile celebrity obituary writer but lost that part of her job and now only writes about regular people. Her son is busy living his own life. Her husband is busy having an affair. Poor Lilian is struggling day to day and is drinking more than she needs to be. She meets David in a coffee shop and feels something she hasn’t felt in a long time… life! We can all see what happens next as Lilian finds herself seeing more and more of David and eventually they fall in bed together. Everything seems to come to a head and everything Liliana is up to comes apart. Can she keep her life together? Or was it only held by a thread to begin with?
Torre managed to keep me entertained throughout the entire book. It was an interesting look at how someone’s life can unravel from one mistake. I enjoyed the book. I really was interested by wondering who was murdered. It was a creative way to write the story. The narration was completely amazing. The team of narrators were able to really bring this story to life. Christina Traister, Chris Ciulla, Patrick Lawlor, and Leon Nixon were a very well assembled team. They sounded great together. I also really felt as though this was a story being brought to life by the narrators. It was truly a pleasure to listen to this audiobook.
