Blurb:
"You got married on your divorce-cation?"
That would unfortunately be correct.
I was hanging with the girls, celebrating my divorce when I saw him, my crush, sitting in the corner of the bar all alone. Being single and looking for a wild night, I asked him if he wanted to join me. To my delight, he said yes.
Drinks were consumed, fun was had and then . . . one drunken conversation with a cranky gondolier in Las Vegas led to an Uber lift through a drive-thru wedding chapel with the incredibly hot, British bad boy, Pike Greyson.
On paper, it seemed like I hit the jackpot. And if I wasn't fresh from a toxic marriage, I would have absolutely noticed the finer things about him.
But I wanted nothing to do with being married, so when I arrived back home from my eventful weekend in Vegas, the last thing I expected to see was a new doting husband already moved in.
I asked for an annulment, he pulled a Ross Geller and said no.
That's right, he said NO! Instead, he asked for three months to prove we could be good together.
Insanity clearly knocked him in the head and the only way I could convince him to give up on our sham of a marriage was to show him just how wrong we were for each other. Only problem with that was, he saw right through my every prank, every trick, and every yearning emotion I attempted to mask.
I
gobbled up Cora and Pike's story. The beginning was hilarious... a
night of debauchery in Las Vegas between two casual acquaintances...
what ever could go wrong? Let's not forget the bottle of tequila and
allllll the fireball. Who doesn't make the best choices? What else is
there to do in Vegas than to get married, totally drunk off your butt?
This is the start of a very hilarious tale. Cora is unsure and scared to
be in her current situation. She wants nothing but to be out of it.
Pike finds himself in a special situation and wants to give things a
chance.
Meghan Quinn in pure brilliant. She's hilarious and fun.
She brought this story to life with just words. Just like we've come to
expect, the Quinn story takes a turn and things crumble down around
Pike and Cora. I always find myself with a pounding heart and some tears
in my eyes. The characters and personality she gives to each of her
characters is special. Keiko is probably one of my all time favorite
characters. I feel like we get to know her a bit more in this book and
it's special.
The narration was by Vanessa Edwin and John
Hartly. They did an amazing job bringing these characters to life. Edwin
was amazing playing all the female characters and giving them their own
personality. She was able to be fun and loose while still being closed
off and scared. She wore her emotions in her voice and I couldn't get
enough. Hardly was brilliant. I love the British accent. He started out
the story pretty closed off and alone but as the story goes on he
loosens up... tequila and fireball help. After the drunken night of fun,
Pike seems to be determined and fierce. However, the last third of the
story is where Hartly excels. He gives Pike so much emotion, so much
heart and it tugged on mine so much. I can't recommend this story enough
and the narrators make it that much better.
