I’ve been contemplating this
review for weeks now. I know I’ll never find the correct words to say how I
needed Heather M. Orgeron’s humor in my life again. She made me laugh so hard.
Whitney is such an interesting character. At first, I was thinking Lord… how’s
that girl walk around with such a stick shoved up there but as I got to read
about her. I realized she’s a single momma and she’s scared to move forward.
Whit will always have a special place in my heart. I love her mothering. I love
how she lets her little person be just that, uniquely herself. Thankfully,
Wyatt is a bulldozer and doesn’t give her a choice to hide. I adored Wyatt. But
if you’ve read Mrs. Orgeron before than you know her babes steal the show and
Prissy is no different. Well, I lie, because this time Prissy has a crew behind
her of secondary characters and they egg her on… it’s all so amazing!!
Heather M. Orgeron brings the heat and so much
darn sweet! I’m not sure the last time I highlighted so many entries from a
book. This crew was just a complete hoot! I want to befriend all of them. I
want to wiggle my way into a job at the Daigle Family Funeral Services because
I just can’t NOT be there. They remind me of my family… they lovingly pick on
you and poke the bear when you’re aggravated. Orgeron really portrays family
life superbly. I could not get enough of them. It wouldn’t be a Heather M.
Orgeron if you aren’t crying… crying from heartbreak or from tears of laughter.
The heartbreak is mostly put away for this one. However, the humor is real and
it had me laughing late up into the night when I should have been sleeping. I’m
jealous of everyone who gets to read this beauty for the first time… enjoy!

RELEASE DAY: Mourning Wood by Heather M. Orgeron
Title: Mourning Wood
Author: Heather M. Orgeron
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: March 4, 2021
BLURB
She’s hard up.
He’s just hard…
After an ill-fated one-night stand, Wyatt Landry was the last person I ever expected to see again.
By design, mind you, as I spent the last two years avoiding him.
He was only ever meant to be a good time—a really good time—and now, thanks to one teensy little mistake, he’s back in my life and wielding an entirely different set of tools.
It’s not like I intentionally hired a bogus contractor to redo our chapel, and Lord knows I never imagined Wyatt would ride up in his pickup truck, like a knight in thigh-hugging blue jeans, to save the day.
But here he is, and to make matters worse, he’s every bit as charming as I remember, and before I can fully process his reappearance in my life, he has my six-year-old daughter wrapped around his finger, my parents eating out of the palm of his hand, and my best friend shipping us like we’re some celebrity couple.
Thankfully, working in the death industry, I’ve mastered the skill of compartmentalization. Keeping my growing feelings tucked away should be a piece of cake. Except, seeing him every day definitely throws a wrench in that plan.
Before I know it, we’re trading favors for dates, and as much I don’t want to admit it, the feelings for him I thought were dead and buried are taking root and growing into something that looks a lot like love.
Daigle Family Funeral Services… don’t be caught dead any place else.
