have been seriously anticipating this book. Tia Liouse happens to be one of my
top favorite authors. Her writing is always so descriptive and so incredibly
real feeling. I adore all her characters and always want more from them. They
always feel like they could be my besties! Plus, look, just LOOK at this cover!

When We Touch, this is a second chance standalone romance. We meet Ember Rose
and Jackson Cane. The prologue begins with a meeting while they are young and
spend a summer together… falling in love like you can only do in those teenage
years. Rose is a high school student with a very strict mother, Jackson is
heading off to college and leaving town. After a decade, they meet again and
still feel that chemistry, that love… that pull to each other.
I
think my favorite thing about When We Touch is it could really happen. We could
have that short little summer romance that totally rocked our socks and then
meet up a decade later to still feel that love. This isn’t a couple that’s torn
about by some insane situation… this couple is victims of circumstance. The nosey, meddling mother and judgmental ways
of others is what has dictated their lives. They learned from their past
problems and really stood by each other when push came to shove… it’s
refreshing. I loved the secondary characters nearly as much as the main
characters… Tabby, Coco, and Andre were wonderful additions! They really showed
what it’s like to have best friends and have the support of them.
What
a wonderful book Tia Liouse has given us! When We Touch is a heart-warming
story about second chances, friendship, and love that will make you think back
on your first love with a fondness. Liouse continues to nail her writing and
keeping the story fascinating without making it over the top!
