BLURB:
The highly anticipated conclusion of The Jaded Series, featuring the beloved Nick and the relentless Chris. Be prepared to experience an emotional roller-coaster of a life time!

What do you do when you lose the single most important thing in your life? You grieve. You sink so deep in a hole, you can no longer see the top. All you see is dark. Your life becomes dull and dreary. You withdraw from your friends, lash out at the ones you're closest to, and become so absorbed in your pain, you feel the only way out is to end it permanently. Your heart no longer pumps properly and you can never get enough air in your lungs. You drink, you neglect your health, and you rent dirty hotel rooms with the sole purpose of ending your pain in them. Guilt eats at you for not being at the one place you were needed the most. And you become angry because you were left behind.

Or at least, that’s what I did. Until she came along…

Chris, the bane of my existence. She’s always there in the background, watching me, trying to ‘be there’ for me. But I don’t want her help. I don’t need her to butt in where she’s not wanted. I just want to be left alone in my dark world. But she's not giving up, even when I'm a bastard to her. Every time I turn around, there she is. And what’s worse, she’s starting to make me want things. Things I never thought I could have again. She’s making me forget the pain and bringing color back into my life with her fiery red hair, bright green eyes, and the silly faces she makes at herself in the mirror. But what happens if I let her in? Could I be brave enough to open myself up, knowing the possibility of having it snatched away again. Once I know the feeling of touching Chris, of having her heart and soul blend with mine, I would never survive losing that.

Can I take the chance of her being my savior, even knowing that she could also be the one that could push me other the edge of self-destruction?

Awaken Me can be read as a stand alone, but it is HIGHLY recommended to read at least the first in the series, Shatter Me. Through Shatter Me, you will understand the emotional ties between Nick and Chris and why Nick is the way he is. Without reading Shatter Me, Nick's behavior may seem too harsh for some readers. This is not a light read. Deals with mental abuse through extreme grief. Intended for readers 18+.

About Alex
Alex Grayson is the bestselling author of heart pounding, emotionally gripping contemporary romance including The Jaded Series, The Consumed Series, and two standalone novels. Her passion for books was reignited by a gift from her sister-in-law intended to distract Alex and help her pass the time while her husband was away for work. After spending several years as a devoted reader and blogger, Alex decided to write and independently publish her first novel in 2014 (an endeavor that took a little longer than expected). The rest, as they say, is history.

Originally a southern girl, Alex now lives in Ohio with her husband, two children, two cats and dog. She loves the color blue, homemade lasagna, casually browsing real estate, and interacting with her readers. Visit her website, www.alexgraysonbooks.com, or find her on social media!

There are books that break your heart, books that totally wreck you mind and spirit, then there’s Awaken Me! Prepare yourself for this book! It’s a book that is going to hurt your heart and cause… this emotional mess of conflicting emotions that you will NOT be able to control. This entire Jaded Series is emotional, but Awaken Me and Shatter Me (book 1). I honestly do not want to go into this storyline at all!! If you’ve read the other books, you know what you are getting yourself into… if you haven’t read the other, read book 1, at least! Alex Grayson’s writing is so smooth and fluid. She transports you to another time! I can’t recommend this book, this series enough!!

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I will leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

I’ll start by saying I’ve only read one other MM romance. So I’m not big into them. I don’t seem to connect with them as much but they are still good stories and that’s why I read, for good stories. Alex Grayson continues to write an amazing Jaded series. Every single one of them have pulled me in and made me think. I’ve really enjoyed this series and feel Alex Grayson pours her heart and soul into her words.

I loved this book just for Andrew! He was an absolute hoot! He lacked, what my husband refers to as the brain mouth filter. This made him just toss innuendo after innuendo! I loved it and laughed a lot in this book. It was still a serious book but it had a lighter feel than the first two books. I loved how Grayson created such a beautiful story about two men in love and them struggling with getting the approval of their loved ones. It really shows you what people go through when we fall for a person society doesn’t consider “normal.”

If you are on the fence about this book just because of the MM love, don’t be. Grayson wrote this MM romance with grace and class. I’m not sure it could have been done better! Give it a chance. If it’s your first MM romance, wait for it… because this one is smoking hot, hot, hot!!!

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I will leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

OK, so first and foremost, let’s talk about the triggers in this book. I know some people are sensitive to particular subjects and this book is bursting with sensitive subjects! We have rap, domestic abuse, sodomy, and just plain violence… all in a nonconsensual manor. There’s also a bit of sexual abuse in the book. So it is detailed throughout the book and not just in the beginning. It explains the main female character’s previous life and her struggles… who wouldn’t?! So, if you can remember that this is a book of fiction and aren’t sensitive to these subjects, I would definitely recommend this book.

So this is not an easy read… I mean, it is titled SHATTER ME. And Shatter Me it does do! Seeing the realistic abuse that women go through daily is so difficult to read and process even though you know it is fiction. However, Jaxon is a total dream! Every single person that has dealt with domestic abuse deserves to find a Jaxon after… it should be mandatory!

I love how strong Alex Grayson makes this book for survivors. She says that “no one should ever be embarrassed or ashamed of being abused.” She really gives you this fierce feeling as a person, as a society. You want to protect those in need. I loved this book. The story is one that will pull at your heart and make it break. I went through so many emotions reading this book… hurt, like sobbing hurt, anger, like fierce anger, anxiety, like I felt my heart accelerating! Grayson’s story flowed, it was emotional. In the end, it turns sweet and right but still has the angst that will pull at you!

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
