This was like getting to meet up with some past friends that I haven't seen in years! These guys have all given us some high angst and intense drama over the last 8 books but here we are with Lenny and Nine. I was thrilled that this book is a standalone.... I've read the previous books but there are 8 older ones and there have been several other books and series since. My mind doesn't retain like it used to. So even though I might have forgotten some information, I still know the key players and it was fabulous to "see" them all again.

Anyways, I liked Nine a lot. I knew his story was going to be an emotional one. It was. I loved the way TM Frazier wrote it too. The trip through the past, through the system... the abuse of the system, searching for his long-lost brother... finding out what moved him, his thoughts. I was addicted to watching him become a man, watching him grow. No one can give us a dark and gritty man with a bit of humor and sensitivity like TM Frazier can!
