I really don’t know how Catherine Cowles is able to create such magic every time she writes a novel. Echoes of You help me captive from the very first word! I’ve said this before and I’ll probably say this every single time I read a new book she has written but Cowles gives me serious Nora Roberts vibes. I just get so entangled in the story that there’s no chance of me finishing until that last page. Echoes of You gives us a fabulous story featuring childhood best friends turned lovers (obviously when they’re older), romantic suspense, and small-town romance… how can you go wrong?! You literally won’t go wrong here!

Nash and Maddie are both aware they are crazy about the other. Neither are willing to act on it when they’ve had a friendship over decades. It was easier to avoid when Maddie wasn’t in the next room. Now Maddie has returned home and she’s running from an ex. Nash wastes no time moving right in. I love the slow burn of this story. They take their time but they’ve had a foundation for years. There’s a big family here and I love how much love they all have for each other. There’s just no question on if they’re going to support you. The narration of this audiobook was FLIPPING AWESOME!! When you have Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon narrating an already awesome book, you just know that they audiobook is going to be completely top notch. I FELT this story. It was alive. The only bad part was that it ended! Loved it and I needed more!

I go into every single audiobook or print book by Meghan Quinn knowing that I will like the story. I will more than likely laugh hysterically, I will swoon over both main characters, and I’ll never want the book to end. This has held firm for the last dozen or so novels. It’s always a treat! Now, Vacation Wars might be slightly different than what she normally writes but this doesn’t fit her general books. Tessa was seriously the best main character! She’s incredibly quirky and so awkward that she can’t even talk to Myles without messing up. I seriously adored Myles. He accepts Millie just like she it. He’s open and caring. These two are amazingly perfect together.

Let me be real, the sister, she is a piece of work and I wanted to send her off the “island”. I just hated how Roxanne treats her sister. She seems to want to micro-manage everything and control everything her sister does. It might be Roxanne’s wedding festivities; but she is playing matchmaker and trying to find “the man” for her sister. Roxanne is not in pre-wedding bliss. Oh no, she’s so focused on Millie and trying to find her a man that she’s pushing her away. It’s the same with the to closer friends. They’ve noticed that they’re friendship is starting to drift apart, they don’t want that to happen. I loved the story. It isn’t just about love between two interested parties but a love between siblings and a love between friends. The love is on the rocks and they’re all wondering if that love is enough to bring them back together or separate them?

Devney Perry is one of my all-time favorite authors. I was so happy to return to the Eden’s. Jasper Vale started out with a bang, if you know what I mean (insert winky face). It slowed down a bit after a fun night in Vegas. Then it sped up a little bit again until the story was full on for Eloise and Jasper. I loved how Jasper stood up for Eloise, even against her own family that might not have been thrilled with all the events happening. His “that’s my wife” statement was the biggest swoon factor for me! It’s a strong man that will stand up for his wife against her own family… he definitely checked a mark I didn’t even know I had!

Perry’s writing is amazing. She pulls me into this story and I was eager to finish. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t thrilled with the other woman bit that was added in the second half of the book but I get why it was added. I always love when Perry gives us a series and we get to check back in with previous members of the family. It really kept me eagerly reading. Jasper had me by my heart strings. His back story was unexpected and a learned quite a bit about him. Eloise was a strong woman but she cared so much what other’s thought of her… ok, she cared way too much about it. Jasper didn’t seem to care at all. These two were fabulous together! I can’t wait to see what Crimson Tide brings us next.

Can we all just sit back and look at Catherine Cowles, I mean, just look at her… the covers are completely glorious (like, I adore them and just want to pet them). Then we have her writing… the characters she creates. I mean, I found myself wanting to just scoop them up and protect them. They are so layered, so developed that you feel it all right there with them. Then we have the rich romance of the story. That underlying love that weaves its way through her story. It isn’t always romantic love either. Whispers of You have a deep family love that is prominent through this story. Then you add in that suspense. If the characters and love didn’t keep me hooked, the suspense would. She writes an amazing whodunit story. She gives me Nora Roberts vibes. That is huge because Nora Roberts/JD Robb is one of my all-time favorite authors. I just need her to space her releases a bit father from Roberts/Robb’s and I’d be in heaven!!

Holt and Wren have loved each other since the beginning of time, or that’s how it seems. It’s always been them against the world. Until tragedy happens and Holt runs. He runs from it all but he’s never escaped his feelings for her. Wren will never leave Cedar Ridge. It’s home and yes, something bad happened here. She also heeled and found herself here. When Holt returns and people start dying, they are thrust together again. Holt refuses to leave her this time. This story held me captive. I already know that this is a series I am going to relisten too and I don’t do that. The narration by Andi Arndt and Zachary Webber was top notch. This was just another element that made the story perfect. Arndt was amazing at giving life to Wren. She was strong and fierce but vulnerable. Webber was a great Holt. You could feel his heart-break and love. He just didn’t know what to do with the pain and the feelings of failure. Perfect narration. These two were made for this story!
