Stone Rivers is a sin I can’t commit.

After years of playing the trophy, puppet, perfectionist,
I’ve forgotten who I am.
Until the boy from my past walks back into my life.
Handsome as sin, charming beyond belief—Stone Rivers is temptation personified.
Our combustible chemistry shatters my resolve.
His blistering kisses remind me of everything I used to want.
But, our present is just as messy as our past.
And reckless as it may be, I can’t let him go.
My name is Regan Wilde.
I’m a mother, a sister, a daughter.
But Stone and I?
We’re a scandal in the making.

tj teaser 1

I’ve been trying to review this book for weeks now, perhaps even a couple of months, and I’m still lacking the words to really portray the raw beauty of this book. It has stuck with me and made me think and feel. Dylan Allen’s books ALWAYS make me think. They ALWAYS open my mind to something or giving me a new perspective on life. I’m going to segue into the way Dylan Allen writes just real quick… her writing transports your mind. She uses words to paint a picture. She creates characters, life, and love… ohhhh good Lord, the love. I feel it.

Just a couple of my favorite quotes:

“I can't believe I'm here. With the woman who made me wish I could bend time so that she could be mine.”

“Sometimes life puts you in touch with the people you need to meet- to help you, to hurt you, to leave you, to love you, and to gradually strengthen you into the person you were meant to become.

We didn't find each other again for no reason. This may be the wrong time. But we are the right people. And you've always been my favorite what if."

Stone and Regan met during an incredibly difficult time in Stone’s life. Regan leaves a huge impact on him during his adolescents. If you’ve read the other books in the interconnected series, The Legend and The Legacy, than you might recall some of the story surrounding his life. I loved Stone. He is an amazing man and some of the things he says and does, Lord this man, he’s real and beautiful. He’s so kind and thoughtful but he also has that manly, alpha side that takes hold when necessary.

Regan though, Regan was where it was at for me. Dylan Allen reminds us that women are strong and fierce. Regan reminded me that it’s never too late to go after your dreams. Own your dreams. Own your life. Don’t take no for an answer. Don’t ever, ever, sit idle and let someone else control your life. I’ve had a soft spot for Lilly since the very first time I read Release, Dylan Allen’s third book in the Symbols of Love series. She’s been the character that has stuck with me the most. She was the closest to my heart. However, after reading the Jezebel, Regan is Dylan Allen’s strongest female characters. She resonated with me. That is what Dylan Allen does, her words are powerful and they hit you with powerful meanings that open your mind. I personally really enjoy the depth she goes into for her books… the back story is deep and layered. Her characters are complex and again, we get to really know them and what they think and feel. So just go in knowing that this is a detailed story and it’s long but Mrs. Allen completely killed this story! Her writing is elevated !! There’s isn’t another book I recommend more this year!

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
