RELEASE DAY: Censored Soul by Anne Malcom

Unquiet Mind #5

By Anne Malcom
Release Day: December 8

I give myself to strangers.

When I'm on stage, and when I'm off it.

Whether it's throngs of screaming fans or just one man, it's always outsiders. People who don't know me. Not the real me.

It's easier, because then it's not so obvious that there is no real me. Just layers of lies.

Then I'm peeled back to the nerve. Showing the world my ugly. Everyone sees me for what I am.

Rightfully so, they hate me.

Almost as much as I hate myself.

I'm willing to hate myself for what I've done. To wither away into some washed up old rock star.

But he doesn't let me.

I want to hate him.

He doesn't let me do that either.

Noah, oh Noah, my heart just ached with his struggle! Noah does not feel worthy of love or even friendship. He's lucky that the people he calls family and who call him the same, love him unconditionally. He has messed up... who hasn't? The unworthiness Noah struggles with is something I think most will relate to even if not on the same scope as Noah. In every book in this series I have come to understand the meaning of the band's name, Unquiet Minds, they all have their own. I felt Noah's a little sharper than the others. It sliced my heart open and I seriously bleed tears for this character.

Anne Malcom gives me something that no other author gives with every book, a piece of her soul, her heart. I can feel it in every single novel. Censored Soul was brutal and honest. It was blunt and real. Something I feel the author portrays in every novel but they're always in different ways. I commend Miss Malcom for putting so much of herself in her work. It FEELS personal. I'd be shocked if this author wasn't a closet poet. Her words feel like double-edged swords cutting right into the heart of everything. Anne Malcom's words are precise, genuine, emotional, and fervent... if it's an inner conflict, she's tackled it with merciless honesty.

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

Anne Malcom  has been an avid reader since before she can remember, her mother responsible for her book addiction. It started with magical journeys into the world of Hogwarts and Middle Earth. As she grew up, her reading tastes grew with her. Her obsession with books and romance novels in particular, gave Anne the opportunity to find another passion, writing. Finding writing about alpha males and happily ever afters more fun than reading about them, Anne is not about to stop any time soon.

Raised in small-town New Zealand, Anne had a truly special childhood, growing up in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. She has backpacked across Europe, ridden camels in the Sahara, eaten her way through Italy, and had all sorts of crazy adventures. Currently living in London, she’s on a whole new adventure.

BLOG TOUR: Marcus by Bethany-Kris

MARCUS by Bethany-Kris

Guzzi Legacy, #6
  Publication Date: December 2, 2019
Genres: Adult, Romantic Suspense, Organized Crime, Erotic Romance, Standalone

When falling is easy, people often forget about the crash.
The time has finally come for Marcus Guzzi to step into his birthright. He’s the firstborn—the next boss to take over his family’s mafia and he’s never been more ready. With an MC encroaching on Guzzi territory, family expectations following him, and more responsibility on his shoulders than ever, what’s one more thing added to his ever-growing list of duties when his father asks for a favor? He just didn’t expect that favor to bring with it a woman he can’t ignore.
Cella Marcello is a lot of things. Single mother. Daughter of a former New York Underboss. A highly sought-after interior designer. Widow. The one thing she’s learned about life after all that’s happened in hers? It keeps moving on, and so does she. When a contract for a penthouse design takes her to Toronto, she isn’t ready for the gorgeously dangerous man waiting there to make sure she has everything she needs. Even if the thing she needs is him.
Marcus is everything she never wanted before now. He wasn’t even looking for someone like her. When the traumas of the past take center stage, these two will need to decide if the chance at forever is worth the risk.

The final Guzzi Legacy novel …
Note: Marcus is a standalone romance within The Guzzi Legacy series.

Woahhhh, Marcus was amazing!! This book is like a double cherry on top of an amazing sundae! Every time I read a Bethany-Kris book I realize how I'm unable to pick just one Kris story. I'm not even sure I could choose a single family as a favorite series!! However, what Marcus has that the other books don't is closure. It wraps up the Guzzi's and the Marcello's. Of course she would find a way to put two of the last singles together and make it amazing!! Marcus is the heir to the la familia. It was never a question and he was all for it. Just like he was all about Cella. I'd previously ached and cried for Cella so seeing her getting her HEA just made me month!

I feel like I just rave and rave for Bethany-Kris's novels but I guess when an authors is skilled like Mrs. Kris is there isn't much else to do. This might have been my absolute favorite child that BK has ever written. Tiffany was just precious and the relationship between her and Marcus grabbed me right by the heart and squeezed!! I can't help but consume these stories! This is author that if you like your romance with some pulse-pounding situations that ride the line of right and wrong everyone should try!! I honestly can't fathom one person cracking open a Bethany-Kris novel and not falling in deep with the characters, the plot and the gorgeous way Kris writes.

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

The stark contrast between the vice president of the Quebec chapter of the Riders—a one-percenter motorcycle club that had a heavy hand in dealing with illegal pills and prostitution between Quebec and Ontario—and Marcus in his three-piece suit was never more obvious than in those moments. Here they were, dining in a five-star restaurant Marcus had closed down to the public for this goddamn meeting, and the VP came with his men in tow, on bikes, wearing their denim and leather.
The disrespect started there.
And it had yet to end.
Excusez-moi?” Marcus asked, choosing French to reply to the man because he knew the biker—Glen, he went by—was French-born first. His last name, Cote, a testament to his heritage. “What does my age have to do with this conversation we’re trying to have here? Because I am pretty sure the answer is nothing.”
Glen grinned, but it came off as more like a sneer. His French accent heavily colored his words when he replied in English, “I’m wondering if you should even be here sitting at this table, or if I should have waited for something with a few more years and a bit of … understanding about this business of ours, oui?”
Marcus had every urge to grind his teeth right down to the fucking roots because that right there was a low blow, and he didn’t doubt the other man knew it. In the world of mafioso, where Marcus had been born and bred from the moment he took his first breath, if a man sat at the table … it was because he earned his place there. Questioning it only meant more disrespect, and shit, hadn’t he taken enough of that from this asshole today?
He thought so.
“We’re not here to discuss my age,” Marcus said, leaning back a bit in his chair to get back to his previously unbothered, calm disposition before the asshole across the table tried to change the subject. “We’re here to discuss the fact that your club has decided to take issue with the Guzzi organization taking over the maple syrup farm—”
“In our territory.”
Marcus arched a brow. “Let me ask you a question, yeah? Indulge me, you know, in all my ignorance because of my age and whatnot. Would you?”
Any man Marcus had brought into this meeting would have known right away that statement was nothing more than bait. Only a stupid man would take it because once it was thrown out there, it meant Marcus had come to really play. As the underboss of his father’s Cosa Nostra, he didn’t have time to play very much. Everything was serious. Walk the fucking line, type of deal. Three-piece suits every single day, up before the sun rose and walking the streets to do the kind of business, he’d been doing for most of his life.
He was made.
So, when he took a minute to play, if a fucker was stupid enough to take the bait, he was going to reel them right in. Until he could snap their goddamn necks. The idiot across the table from him included. As he thought, the man took the bait.
Because of course.
“Sure, why not,” Glen muttered. “As if we all have time today, ask me a question, Marcus.”
His jaw ticked.
It’d been Marcus from the moment he walked in the door. Not sir or Guzzi or even mister. As though they were on a first name basis, despite the fact that Marcus repeatedly and clearly corrected the asshole every time he used his first name. Something else to add to the pile of disrespect. He wished he was shocked.
But nope.
“Do you assume when I put this suit on and get in my black Mercedes you saw me arrive in that I suddenly become a man who doesn’t know how to nail your head to the wall with a well-placed bullet?”
Glen stiffened, his tattooed arms bulging when they flexed at his chest. “Is that a threat, Guzzi?”
Ah, so now it was Guzzi, huh?
