What I wanted for my birthday: Books.

What I got for my birthday: my brother's best friend playing matchmaker.

Let it be known that I, Kinsley Lane, am one hundred percent against being set up with somebody.

And I'm one thousand percent sure that Josh Carter is not the man to find me a boyfriend.

I mean, if I'm so great, why isn't he the one dating me? (For the record, I don't know the answer. That's just what the guy on the internet asked.)

Still, I'll humor him. If I go on his little dates, he'll teach my bookish, introverted self how not to be totally, completely, utterly, unforgivably awkward on every single one of them.

And all I have to do is fall in love with one of the lovely gentlemen he's serving up for me on a silver platter--all of whom fit my very specific guidelines.

Simple, right?

It would be.

I feel like I’ve been waiting three years for Emma Hart to release The Bookworm’s Guide to Dating. It was worth the wait! We have the adorably awkward Kinsley… really would it be an Emma Hart book without an awkward heroine? I feel like it’s one of her signature styles in her RomComs… let me add that I don’t mind that at all! So, Kinsley is wanting to start her next year off with dating more. But she’s awkward and it really only seems to be in her favor after people know her. Her brother’s BF Josh wants to help get her dating ready. Really, I think Josh just wanted to be around her. He’s been crushing on Kinsley for as long as he can remember. Kinsley is completely clueless!

Emma Hart gives ever RomCom book lovers what they want here… we get a brother’s best friend, friends to lovers with an excruciating slow burn! Josh made a deal with Kinsley’s brother years ago… no dating each other’s sister… but of course, Josh is crushing hard! I loved that Kinsley slowly realizes what has been in front of her this entire time. It just takes lots of book jokes, a ton of awkwardness that is seriously endearing, and chemistry like you only get in a Hart RomCom. Oh, let’s not forget the hilarious senior citizens and their ducks! I have a huge thing for the secondary characters Emma Hart puts in her novels. They’re always the best. The quirkiest. The weirdest. The sweetest. The most bluntly, brutally honest characters! I’m just plain tickled that this is the start of a new series and we’re gonna revisit this bookstore in the coming months! Lord knows I can’t go just once to a bookstore!
