Blurb:

He was my foster brother.
He swore to protect me.
He failed.
They all failed.

I’m an open box of passé photographs, snapped in chaste daylight, but filtered in sepia. I’m the past that he tried to forget, and he was the future I needed. When he left six years ago, I screamed for him every night. But then it all stopped. My screams were suddenly muffled by cruelty, and further coaxed by pain.

But he has come back. He’s not the cute big brother I had a furtive crush on, or the bad boy, rich brat that I hated to love.

He’s the ruthless vice president of Wolf Pack MC, and he doesn’t answer to Royce Kane anymore.

He answers to Sicko.

Sicko… what do I say about Sicko? I was a bit nervous going into this story. Here we have a book that’s release day was pushed back a bit. Amo Jones has written a warning for Sicko. She doesn’t write warnings. I think I’ve seen it one other time on her books. Add in all the hype over the book and I was expecting something so dark that I could barely handle it. I didn’t exactly feel that it was THAT dark. Don’t get me wrong. It was DARK. Sometimes I think that the anticipation and the hype can cause a negative view on me… so besides the fact that I was expecting a black hole that would gobble up my heart in one bite and I didn’t feel the book quite reached that level.

But saying that, this book was utterly delicious. I got to this one scene at 30% and needed an ice cold bath! It was so crazy HOT! Like, HELLO! The mystery was my favorite part of this book. I was pretty sure I knew what was what but it is still a wild ride getting from beginning to end. Royce is full of fire, of aggression, of pent of lust and love just runneth over. Jade is strength. She just eludes it. She also shows us how strong our mind is. It is able to create safe places for us when we face trauma. It’s an amazing show of how the brain works to keep the person safe as possible.  Amo Jones wrote like a wicked vixen. It was sexy and sad. It was heartbreaking and mindbreaking. It was a messed up story that will leave you angry and feeling vengeful.

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.

About the Author:

Amo Jones is a USA Today & Wall Street Journal Bestselling Author, totally winging this author thing (she's probably doing it all wrong). She likes cake, loves wine, and her religion is magic (Slytherin). She's a profound work-a-holic, but when she's not writing, you can find her chilling with her kids & Husband at the nearest beach, with a cocktail in her hand.

New Zealand is not a state of Australia and rugby is the best sport ever played.
