Sigh… I just love getting a new book from Tia Louise. I try
hard to hold back and not read it like a lush but it really can’t be helped. I’m
obsessed. Louise created one of her deepest love stories yet. I was so
entranced in Angel and Deacon’s story that I stayed up until 4am finishing this
book. Angel and Deacon’s families are not friends… in fact; they dislike each
other so much that you get the Hatfield and McCoy’s vibe. Just like the
historical family feud, Trevino and Dring have some bitter
grudges that seem to span generations.
I feel like we get just a
smidge of Louise’s suspense in this book… I’ve missed it to be honest. The
Dirty Players and the Bright Light series have been my favorites from her but
now this one joins the older series. I loved the forbidden aspect of this story
and the way Deacon started to unravel the story of his and Angel’s families
past. Louise’s writing is impressive. The heat level was through the rough…
perhaps it’s the forbidden aspect to it but Lord have MERCY… this was HAWT!
