Synopsis

A Falling Stars STAND-ALONE NOVEL from NYT & USA Today Bestselling Author, A.L. Jackson . . .

A single mother.
An up-and-coming drummer with a sordid past.
Their paths never should have crossed.
But when a senseless crime rocks Mia West’s entire world, she agrees to spend the summer hiding out at her rock-star brother’s mansion in Savannah until the storm blows over.
What she never expected was the gorgeous, brooding drummer living in the guest house.
His darkness a lure.
His gaze a trap.
She knows better than to go after what will hurt her most.
Leif Godwin has two focuses in his life: his band, Carolina George, and seeking retribution for what was stolen from him.
Mia was never supposed to be a part of the equation.
Her eyes an appeal.
Her body a temptation.
Touching her is nothing but a sin.
But will loving her destroy them all . . .

I started reading Kiss the Stars the day I finished Catch Me When I Fall. Like I said in that review, I had no idea what it was about and it was the same for this book. I had no idea but I was so thrilled when I started reading and was immediately brought right back into Carolina George. Now, I have not read the Bleeding Star series and this is kind of a spin-off of that. I get that we’re meeting a band from the previous books but besides wanting their stories, I don’t feel like it gives me too much of their stories where I won’t be able to go back and enjoy them because you can bet your last book dollar that I’m going back! I was not confused in the least reading this story or listening to Catch Me When I Fall, it just made me even more curious. I’m not sure anyone creates rockstar’s/country stars like A.L. Jackson. Her characters are real, they’re flawed, they’re cocky, they’re sweet and charismatic, they’re endearing, and they’re usually a bit broken. Who doesn’t want to save a broken rockstar? Am I right?!

We don’t get a ton of Lief in Catch Me When I Fall but I did meet him. I knew he was going to be an amazing man. It’s obvious from the start that Lief has a past and he’s trying his best to hide it. I found myself hollering a bit at Mrs. Jackson… and I don’t normally feel as teased by her as I did with this novel. I just wanted to know it all and I thought I would EXPLODE during those first few chapters! Then we have Mia. Lief just swears he isn’t good enough for her. But aren’t those the best men? I swear, they are the ones that know what they have and show it. Lord, was this man swoony! I thought Lief and Mia were perfection but once you add the kiddos in and my heart stuttered… it STUTTERED! I’m a fool over a good man with children, especially when they don’t have to be. My heart cannot handle it! The push and pull between Mia and Lief was amazing and my heart felt it right there with them.

I found A.L. Jackson’s novels, perhaps, three years ago, maybe four. I haven’t read all of her backlist but I know I will. I have all that I can on audiobooks because even reading her stories are nowhere near what it is like to experience her amazing narrators. You feel like you’re sitting around the table drinking coffee as they tell you their story. My heart was so invested. The way Mrs. Jackson creates her characters is perfection. She seems to pull traits and characteristics right out of real people. I was left feeling like these aren’t perfect, they’re real and they make mistakes. Kiss the Stars was a gorgeously-written story and I’m not sure I’ve ever been so invested in a group of people as I am Carolina George. I know there’s so much more to come! I’m super thrilled and saving my tissues… I know Richard is up too… I just don’t know what he’s up too and I’m dying for it! Then, please tell me Rhys and Mel are going to be getting their own book?!?! I need them together! I see so much chemistry there… an explosion is coming soon!

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
