So... I don't exactly think you have to read the other books in this series to read and understand this novella. However, Closer is referred to as book 4.6 of the Stage Dive series. I haven't read any of them. So while I wasn't confused or lost at all, I definitely felt like I was missing inside joke or stories. That's more my fault though for not realizing I was jumping in the middle of a series. I didn't remove any stars due to this and I'm only mentioning it because I think people will enjoy it more if you know the entire group. I like the main and secondary characters and would love to read the previous books and might just dive (hehe) in.

The best part of this novella is Mae. As a curvaceous woman myself, I do love reading about a full figure woman drawing attention and being glamorized. We don't see it enough and I just loved the sexy way Kylie Scott portrayed Mae. I would have loved this book as a full novel. I think Miss Scott could have really developed the storyline and suspenseful feeling a bit more. It was a great story but I would have loved more of it. I think the more could have added a depth to it that was so close. I think I needed Ziggy to add something to the story. His POV was so very needed. His side. I didn't feel a connection with him but I really love bodyguard stories and I loved Mae.

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
