Blurb:
  I needed to get away.
My ex was getting married.
So, I left.
The English countryside was a picture-perfect escape.
The dashing stranger an even better one.
And what started as a chance encounter quickly became more.
He promised to show me how to live, how to feel alive and forget a past best forgotten.
He made me believe things could be different.
That was until I found out who he was . . .
He was Oliver Blackthorn. The 16th Earl of Lockhart.
Thirty-third in line to the throne.
And a liar.

First, I really, like really, love this cover. I'm so over the half naked men on book covers. I mean, where'd all that creativity? However, Deceit's cover is amazing. It's classy and sexy but not over the top objectionable... some piece of man-meat. Yeah, I said it and I'm not even sorry. Anyway, don't get me started on the spiel of objectification of man and women and how neither should be slabs if meat...ok, I started, I'm done now. Ok, so Deceit and its cover doesn't make me feel horrible for looking at it. I love the black and white and the pop of the color in the title. Gorgeous!!

Ava Harrison writes some of the best British men out there. Oliver is one of Harrison's best guys yet!! His patience is beyond what people normally give. Really, he's got the patience of a saint, I'm not sure Addison even deserved him. And here lies my issues with the story: Addison. I had a bit of a hard time relating to her, or even liking her. Her behaviors turned me off.

It's odd; if I could rate the first 60% of this book I'd give it 4 stars. I'd rate the last 40% with only 2 stars. So I think my overall will be 3 stars. I struggled even with the ending 2 stars but with Ava Harrison's way of writing plus she can really add some humor and lightness to things. Her writing made this story worth it for me. While I definitely DID NOT hate this book, it wasn't a favorite of hers even if I fell hard for Olly. I guess this really shows me how much a character I didn't really like impacts the story for me. It isn't typical for me to not totally love her stories so please, give it a try... it might be different for you.

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
