BLURB

Six friends. Three secrets. One murder.

Maggie is destined to marry the perfect man in two weeks. Desperate for a last wild night on the town before the big day, she gathers her closest friends for a night to remember.

Only things go wrong – horribly wrong.

Angie’s body is found in the park the following morning and their night to remember quickly becomes a nightmare they wish they could forget. Under police scrutiny, how far will Maggie and her friends go to keep their secrets? Far enough to protect a killer?

I ended up finding The Last Night Out on Audible and listened to it on speed! It seemed like it was over as soon as it started… that tells me I was in deep with this book! I enjoy a good mystery and I NEVER knew who did it until everything started to unravel. However, you see I’ve reduced a star. I’ll get straight to my why… I really don’t think anyone could have guessed who did this one! There are so many confusing side trips that I struggled to weed out what was relevant and what wasn’t. That’s really my only beef with this entire book… besides pretty much every character being self absorbed in their own messes but, really that’s pretty accurate!

I listened to the audiobook and Katherine Fenton was a joy to listen too. I felt she added feelings and emotions to the characters that reading the text only could not have added with words… or at least it doesn’t seem like the emotions could be as strong as the audio. I’m not going to go into a lot of the storyline because you can read the blurb just like me. I’m going to tell you some thoughts and feelings. As a mystery… this was a great story. I really don’t think most people who guess “who dun it.” I did like putting the story together and piecing together the story and the several women. It was a bit difficult to keep the women strait until they really developed a personality.

Oh, I actually really wish we would have had a bit more info from Angie on her demise. I feel like we didn’t get the real how or when broken down. Most was left to our imagination. I like my deets dark and dirty! I have to say though, the writing process was fantastic! The development of the story grabbed me and kept me entranced. I’ll definitely watch this author for some more thrillers! Fantastic listen!

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
