** Roma King is part one in the Roma Royals Duet series. The second and final book in the series, Roma Queen, will be released early February 2019**

“911. What is your emergency?”

Every night, Zara Llewelyn picks up the phone and assists people in distress. House fires. Assault. Motor vehicle accidents. Home invasions...

Between the hours of six and two, she is the answer to a thousand cries for help. But when the payphone outside Zara’s apartment building mysteriously begins ringing night after night, the very last thing she wants to do is pick it up. And yet, she can’t seem to help herself...

Pasha Rivin’s trying to outrun fate. He’s been running from it for years now, but escape isn’t in his cards. As the oldest son of the oldest Roma family in the country, he’s not just a member of a proud and fiercely traditional clan. He is their reluctant king...and now he’s expected to find a wife.

The fiery redhead that shows up on his doorstep, following a trail of breadcrumbs, hunting for a missing little boy, is the last person Pasha’s mother has in mind, however.
She’s an outsider, an intruder, and as far as his family are concerned, she’s not welcome on their land, let alone in their king’s bed.

Pasha has never allowed his destiny to stand in the way of what he wants, however. And he’s never wanted anything more than he wants the girl with the burning green eyes.

This is one of those books where you feel a bit confused for 50% of the novel and 100% of it hot as hell… because well… Pasha. Callie Hart creates some of the most breath-taking male characters. Pasha was everything… he was completely ruthless and raw, rugged and so manly, he was sexy and captivating… did I mention sexy? Cause he is… that came through loud and clear! Zara is a fascinating character. She intrigued me more than anything. The character development of Roma King was perfection. I’m seriously obsessed with the Roma concept and traditions.

Now, I don’t like to give a lot of the storyline away in my reviews and I’m going to stick to this so I’m sorry ahead of time if I’ve vague-reading you. Roma King is the build of the duet. Callie Hart spends this novel putting everything together and setting up what she’s about to unfold in Roma Queen. The two main characters don’t meet until halfway through the storyline. It feels and seems as if there are two storylines happening. Honestly, I prefer my thriller/suspense books to be set up like this. I want to put together the pieces that Callie Hart is giving us. I got to do that. However, I don’t have 100% of the pieces nor do I have a table to put them on. Again, this build up/set up was fantastic. I feel like everything is places as it should be.

I’ve read a few of the lower reviews… curious what the dealio was. How could they feel so vastly different than me? Not every book is for every person. There was a ton of character development and lifestyles to set up here. There is so much mystery and suspense in Roma King. It’s all built into the layers that Hart produced… step by step. So Roma King is a lot to take in. There’s so much happening her. But you can feel the atmosphere that she has built. The plot and story is dimensional. The pace was spot on and I didn’t want it to end. Everything about this story is original and entrancing. If you don’t enjoy cliff hangers than I’d wait but this build up was fantastic and it’s the start of what I think is going to be a fabulous duet!

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
