ROCK KING by Tara Leigh IS AVAILABLE NOW!!

Blurb:
Fans of Kristen Callihan and Kylie Scott will scream for this sizzling bad boy rock star romance!

I'm not who you think I am.

Shane Hawthorne has it all. At least, that's what the headlines say about me. I have millions of fans, awards, more money - and women - than I know what to do with. But what you don't see is the wreckage I've caused. The memories and pain I can't escape, even when I pour them into music and spin them into gold.

I tried to forget. To lose myself in booze and groupies. It didn't work. It hurt me and - worse - it hurt my band. That's the last thing I want to do, so I'm cleaning up my act... starting with Delaney Fraser.

Gorgeous, smart, drama-free, and even nice - Delaney is the perfect "girlfriend." When I'm with her I don't have to pretend. It's like she sees the real me. And I can see a future with her. But that's dangerous. Because the truth is, Shane Hawthorne doesn't actually exist. He's a shield to hide who I really am. Fraud. Runaway. Addict. Murderer.

And it's impossible to love a lie, right?

This cover completely rocked! I have a serious love for the new bokeh light look going around everywhere… I know it’s everywhere… I just like the look of it. I can’t help it.  The storyline and plot aren’t exactly original and I’m honestly ok with that. As long as an author can work it and the characters… I’m fine with reading a dozen rocker with an addiction problem and a fake girlfriends stories. This was fine. It had great potential and I think it will work for a ton of people!

I liked this book but didn’t love it. I’ve been going back and forth trying to figure out what happened for me to not have any strong feelings for the characters. The characters were developed and interesting, but I think the lack of actual interaction between characters made me unable to connect and to feel like it was really developed. It felt like I was living inside the characters head and not watching their life… like I was more inside the character’s head instead of interacting with others. Kind of an inner reflection… I can see that that could be kind of cool for some books or readers but I don’t think I’m the reflective type.

Now, I am not saying this book was bad! It was good, it was fine… I don’t think I’ll be shouting my praise from the rooftops but I it was good and I think some, maybe even most people will enjoy this type of character development.  Even though I’m kind of curious of the secondary characters in Rock King, I don’t think I’ll read the upcoming book… sometimes storytelling methods don’t work for certain people and this is the case for me, but please, don’t hold that against the author.

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
