RELEASE DAY: Ryan's Bed by Tijan

Ryan's Bed by Tijan

I crawled into Ryan Jensen’s bed that first night by accident.
I barely knew him. I thought it was his sister’s bed–her room. It took seconds to realize my error, and I should’ve left…
I didn’t.
I didn’t jump out.
I didn’t get embarrassed.
I relaxed.
And that night, in that moment, it was the only thing I craved.
I asked to stay. He let me, and I slept.
The truth? I never wanted to leave his bed. If I could’ve stayed forever, I would have. He became my sanctuary.
Because—four hours earlier—my twin sister killed herself.

Oh my good Lord! Tijan wrote one heck of a story! This knocked me on my butt! Tijan mastered Ryan’s Bed. This is a book that I am going to continue to think about for day, or months to come. This is a book that I will reread. It simply gutted me. It tore my heart into pieced! This book touches on some of the hardest parts of relationships, of family, of dealing with grief. So while there are some extremely hard parts in this book, there are also some areas that delve into personal self discovery and love, always love.

I’m not going to go into the storyline. This is an amazing book and the storyline is completely one-of-a-kind. It deserves to be read and appreciated on your own. I loved Ryan though; I just have to mention him. He was so wonderful and such a great friend to Mackenzie. He was there for her and let her deal with her grief as she needed too. Everyone deals with grief in their own ways and he allowed her. We don’t just get Mackenzie’s story and Ryan helping her, we get the thoughts and feelings of every member of the family.

So to break it down, this book is not an easy book to read. This is a book that deals with real and heart-breaking real life problems. So while this book might hurt your heart, it could also help some people. The ending brought me to my knees, figuratively, and really it latched itself onto my heart, into my soul. There is no correct way to deal with the pain of losing a loved one. Everyone deals with loss in their own unique way. We do the best we can. Ryan’s Bed reminds us that people are all their own people. I love when an author opens me up and reaches inside me and squeezes my heart. Tijan shows the real and raw talent she has, right here in the words of Ryan’s Bed.

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I will leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
