RELEASE DAY: Unveiling Fate by Jeannine Allison

Unveiling Fate by Jeannine Allison

Synopsis:

*The girl who everyone forgot…

Ellie Harrington wanted to be remembered. After years of being neglected by her parents and ignored by her peers, she tried to drown her sorrows in alcohol. But at the tender age of twenty, her biggest crutch becomes her greatest obstacle when a positive pregnancy test changes her life forever.

*The boy who wished to be forgotten…

Grayson Mable wanted to disappear. After suffering years of torment at the hands of bullies and the tragic loss of his best friend, he cut himself off from the world. Almost a decade later, the victim has become the protector. But instead of seeing a hero, he sees a broken man, haunted by his past.

*Tell me something that hurts…

Both believe they’re destined for loneliness, until their paths cross and everything changes. The pair become fast friends, trading their darkest secrets and revealing their deepest regrets. As time goes on and their feelings grow, the pieces of their broken hearts come together, fitting perfectly to make them whole. But mended hearts are fragile… Will Ellie and Grayson crumble under the weight of their pain? Or can they stand strong and embrace what fate has planned?

Jeannine Allison is the author of the Unveiling series. These new adult romance novels are interconnected standalones, starting with Unveiling The Sky released in May 2016.
She loves writing and reading — obviously  — but when she’s not she enjoys playing with her two dogs, obsessing over makeup, drinking coffee, googling new tattoos, and pretty much anything else that allows her to wear yoga pants and a sweatshirt
She is a big fan of being who you are. Dr. Seuss said it best…
“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”

So the beginning of October, Jeannine Allison started to put her books on sale… a week at a time each of her Unveiling books went on sale for 99 cents. Every week I bought the one on sale and consumed them before the next sale!! So, with that said… I think Unveiling Fate might be my absolute favorite of the four books.

I loved Grayson… Grayson is a real man. Jeannine Allison created real people in her characters. Honestly, that’s one thing that bugs me about most books… it doesn’t feel real. The problems are way too outlandish and the people themselves don’t feel real. You know that, I know that… even if we want those crazy dominating alpha males. Grayson is a real man and he might be one of my favorite male characters of this year… ok, ok… he’s in the top five!! I could relate to Grayson… I’m very similar to him with really only having work friends. Grayson is a bit more closed off than I am. He has reasons behind his closed off nature… behind turning off this emotions.

Then we have Ellie Harrington. After struggling through the effects of years and years of neglect, her best friend is in a bottle. However, she has to put down the bottle when she has a bigger problem… a problem where she needs to be sober and her body is a vessel. Ellie’s life is undergoing major life changes. It’s perfect timing when she stumbles upon a friend.  I loved this slow burn and the lovely build up of a strong friendship. They swap horror stories and learn to trust and count on one another.

Unveiling Fate is a tough story that deals with real life problems that we tend to ignore as a society. The hurt and pain that these two endure will touch your heart and embed in your heart. Seeing both Ellie and Grayson grow and learn how to love was beautiful. This was an incredibly touching story. I really enjoyed the sibling love between Ellie and Damien… I mean, thank goodness for him!

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
