What… I don’t even know how to review this book. I feel like my mind has been stuttering for days… you know… it’s in my skull just walking around bumping into whatever is left lying around in there. Aly Martinez has totally ROCKED this book! This… like… I don’t even know how to review it. I know I’m just going to follow Aly around tossing stars at her because this book deserves ALL THE STARS… like every.single.star.out.there! GIVE THEM ALL TO ALY!!!
I seriously have about 10 other ARCs that I NEED to read… I have stuff I HAVE to do as a blogger, but darn you Aly, I’m stuck here in The Darkest Sunrise and am unable to carry on. Seriously, I wish I could make people read this… if you like to read and occasionally like your heart torn out viciously… then this books is THE ONE! I plowed through this book like a kid plows through dinner to go back outside! I read this in under a day… besides knowing this book is the BEST thing I have read in a while and the absolute BEST thing from Aly Martinez’s fingertips… I am DYING for the next book… The Brightest Sunset.
I don’t feel like I can really talk about this book without giving stuff away. If you’ve made it to my review… which is a rambling mess of words, than you’ve read the blurb. That’s really all you need to know. Martinez’s writing is at the top of her game! I haven’t seen better work from her… heck, this tops a lot of people’s best work! This book is emotionally draining and heartbreaking… but in good ways… I haven’t cried so much through a book in months, MONTHS! This book is going to leave us book lovers chatting for a long time… I see “support groups” forming as I type!! So stop reading reviews and get this book! You won’t regret it!
