By Rebecca Barber

Release Date: May 23rd, 2017

Genre: New Adult

****SYNOPSIS****

After his life falls apart, Nate Mitchell climbs onto his motorcycle and tries to outrun his past.
Nate leaves behind the noise and chaos of Sydney and accepts a teaching job in a quiet country town. Every afternoon after work, he throws himself into renovations on his old, rundown house until he’s too exhausted to remember

Josie Perry needs a sign—something to restore her hope.
Abandoned by her baby’s father and disowned by her parents, Josie is now dealing with life as a single mother. She loves being a mum, but she needs something more…like a chance to have a conversation in full sentences with someone who knows how to wipe their own nose. In an effort to rebuild her life, she takes a waitress job at the local club. That’s where she meets Nate…who might provide a little bit more adult interaction than she was looking for.

The possibility of hope is more than they can ignore…

Even Nate and Josie’s friends notice their attraction, and they scheme to get the couple together. But they find reminders in one another of the pasts that nearly destroyed them. They worry a relationship would open up old wounds they’ve tried so hard to heal.

Is their love strong enough to overcome the demons haunting them?

Is it possible to start Believing Again?

****EXCERPT****

I stood on the curb staring at the house. I knew I was in the right place. The illuminated blue sign out the front proudly pronouncing the Police Station’s presence gave it away. It was cold and miserable and matched my sullen mood perfectly. The wind howled and cut through me painfully as I tried to pull my threadbare jacket tighter around my bulging belly. There was no give there. The spitty rain dotted my face with icy drops. Above me the sky was dark and daunting. Maybe it was a sign of what was to come.
I didn’t have high hopes.
I didn’t deserve to.
For months I’d been dodging my sister. Sure I returned her text messages and spoke to her on the phone, but it was all superficial bullshit. The secret I was carrying around was growing bigger every day. Literally. I just couldn’t bring myself to tell her. There was the very real possibility it would destroy her. Destroy us. I left my bag in the car. I wasn’t in the position to make assumptions. Even if I was, I assumed I’d be crashing in a cold, lonely hotel room tonight, not in my sister’s guest room.
The rain grew heavier and I couldn’t stand there any longer. At this point, I couldn’t afford to get sick, and with my wet hair plastering itself to my face, I knew I had to move, much to my feet’s indignation. Hugging my chest, I waddled up the path until I came face to face with the solid wood door. Running my hand through my sopping hair, I sucked in a deep breath and pressed the buzzer.
I didn’t want anyone to be home.
I didn’t want to do this.
Fuck!

Oh man, Barber is just fantastic in putting a TON of emotions into her books! This one might be my favorite one of all!!! I might have had a few tears leaking… its possible! I love the storyline… the new male meat is a school teacher and all the single woman come sniffing! Man, it was so comical to me!

This really takes a beautiful look at single parenting. It’s heart-breaking but, as parenting is, it’s so worth it! Matilda is precious and I loved reading about her! Relationships seem to always find people when they aren’t looking, when they (think) they don’t want it.

Barber writes some fantastic characters… the people that just stick with you. It feels real, ya know? Rebecca Barber just writes stories about real people. People who are running from their past lives, running from emotions… who knew they were running strait for each other. I totally recommend reading this series, you’re gonna fall in love yourself! You’ll feel the hope and love oozing out of this book.

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I will leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
