MY REVIEW

I don't think I've ever been so happy to see an ARC land on my shelf… seriously, I was in the middle of another book at the time and immediately stopped it to start this. I’ve been dying for this book the minute The Pawn was over. These books have made it into my All Time Favorite Book EVER!! Seriously, I can’t read the fast enough. I just had to know where things would go with Avery and Gabriel. I was incredibly pleased with the way Skye Warren wrote this story… granted I wanted MORE and FASTER! But that’s just because these books are just so damn good!!

The Knight picks right up where The Pawn ended. Poor Avery is in even worse shape. She is heartbroken and destitute… and without her virtue. She is living in a rundown motel no where near what she is used to living. A place where she doesn’t dare leave a dollar behind in fear it won’t be there later. She spends her sleepless nights listening to the prostitute next door “service” her many, many Johns. Avery has reached the lowest point in her life. She’s lost and beyond stressed.

It seems so ironic that I started this book the weekend of the Women's March all around the US. I am not generally one to push my Girl Power beliefs on people but I totally felt that welling up for Avery in the first few chapters of this book. Avery’s attitude and how she refused to just lay down and take it made me want to cheer! She may be stressed and at a super  low point in her life but she doesn’t lay down and take it. This girl is a fighter!

This book… Well, it's like playing a game of clue. Since I've never played chess, all I can think of is Mr. Green in the ballroom with the candlestick! The ball scenes were so tense with such a build up… and it didn’t disappoint.

My only somewhat negative thought is that I would give anything to get some of Gabriel’s thoughts. I just wish WISH this was written in dual POV. I so want in Gabriel's head! Although, this book did enlighten me more to what is in Gabriel's head. It was needed at least for me. You will NOT go wrong with this, soon to be, trilogy. I have seriously LOVED both The Pawn and The Knight!! The Knight though, it has a much more suspense build up and you get more of the story. It’s just filling in enough to drive you batty for The Castle. I’d rate The Knight higher than 5 Star if I could… that’s how much I love it!!!

I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I will leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that... my opinions.
