Praise for Caroline Mitchell:

‘Fan-bloody-tastic! I enjoyed this book so much that I forced myself to read slowly as I just could not bear for it to end… I thought the story was brilliant. The characters were creative and kept me hooked. ‘The twists and turns kept me gasping for more… Could not recommend this book any more highly!’ Crime Book Junkie

‘This is a well written supernatural detective story, with a surprising twist that I guarantee will keep you glued to the last page… at times I couldn’t turn the pages quickly enough, it’s atmospheric, gritty and at times just plain scary, and what a twist at the end.’ The Book Review CafĂ©

‘With a brilliant cast of crime characters, and a plot that was enough to make me feel dizzy, this was a compelling book that I just couldn't get enough of. Every word, every page, every murder, every guess... I couldn't wait for the final piece of the jigsaw to fit into place… the word 'thrilling' just doesn't do this justice.’ Becca’s Books

REVIEW:
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

“The Silent Twin” is the 3rd book in the DC Jennifer Knight series. These books have a paranormal twist that other detective books do not have. I like the perspective on it. I think it’s a fun way to look at detective work with some supernatural weaved into it. In previous books, Jennifer has an obsession with cleaning. For some reason that problem seems to have been solved and is barely talked about. I guess I thought that it was odd that a deep routed problem that has lasted nearly her whole life is just abruptly gone.

The writing was fine; the story line was good…there was just something missing from this book. My main question is…what did Jennifer do with all her time in the home? It seemed like she spent nearly all day there but wasn’t able to talk with anyone especially Olivia. Something was just off for me.

This was probably my least favorite of all 3 books. I like the mix of the detective’s life and the case, but this story didn’t have much of a life outside the case….which isn’t bad, it’s just my preference. It was hard to put a rating to this as I went back and forth with a 3 and a 4 star, so I’m going in between with a 3.5 rating.
